At first, I thought that the ArtBin Brush Box was a luxury item, one not really necessary to purchase and use. However, after losing the clear plastic brush tip cover so many times, I realized that instead of dumping brushes into a big box without holders and creating a jumble, it would be wiser to have the brushes individually mounted for display and all the brushes (and parts) contained in one location and that is exactly what the ArtBin Brush Box does. The box is simple, cheap, elegant, sturdy, and translucent.One cannot really see the brushes through the box as the plastic isn't entirely clear transparent, but opening the lid reveals a nice clean layout with gray foam slit holders for ten brushes on both sides (holds 20 brushes total per box) where the brush heads and handles can nest into each other. The foam holders are sturdy and hold the handles in place securely, be they thick or thin handles. Best of all, if you lose anything in the box, it will stay in the box if the lid is closed.The lid is a simple plastic snap-lock tab and seems too simple, but it does function and holds the lid securely. The hinges have metal rod inserts for ruggedness and smooth operation.Measurements of the box are approximately 5.75" wide by 13.75" long by 1.15" high. Two boxes should hold forty of your favorite brushes. This really is a nice neat box that is lightweight, secure, rugged, and serves its purpose very well and is highly recommended as to make your artistic life easier.

Great product! I turned down ordering this several times thinking it would not work for me. Boy, was i wrong! Its really long however i am able to store all my favorite brushes in it. Storage and a drying rack all in one! Because the bristles of the brush do not touch anything I am able to clean the brushes and place them in the holders to dry without any problems. It saves space and time. The plastic it is made from is very sturdy and crush proof so i am able to travel with the box as well. And the hinges are metal so i feel like it will last a long time. I have been using and traveling with it for about a month now. I just love it! I will be ordering another one for more brush storage!

I am giving this case 5 starts, because it truly is the best that's out there for carrying and storing your paint brushes. Yes, as other reviews mentioned, you will want to insert pieces of kitchen sponge to better support the middle (and keep your brushes in place). But that is a small inconvenience if you're looking for something portable that's also sturdy and effective. Also, made in the U.S.A.!

My brushes are kind of short, and I didn't like how they didn't lay flat over the glued-down black foam. I decided not to return it because I already knew I didn't want the other ones I looked at, and it's made here in the U.S., so there's that. To get it to work the way I wanted, I did a little jerry-rigging with 3 sponges I cut up, so that the bristles could rest on sponges. Then I put some brushes on the left and some on the right, see photos. I think I'm going to add more sponges to fill up the middle section. The brushes don't move around when the lid is closed and latched. It's a little on the expensive side, but I will pay a little more for U.S. made.

Just got this today and put my brushes in it. I have another, smaller Artbin pencil/pen/brush holder with three compartments in it. It was okay for storage, mostly when I wasn’t using my brushes. I suppose I could have made a hack of this item. All it is are two slotted foam pieces hot-glued onto the bottom of the container. It’s actually wider and a bit longer than the case I was already using, so I don’t know if I’d use this for plein air painting at all. It takes up a LOT of room in a bag. If you’re planning on stealthy painting, forget it. If you’re traveling with a light painting kit…it’s a toss up. I haven’t actually tried using it outside the house, so I am not sure how securely the brushes are lodged in the foam slots.If you’re going to spend almost $20 for this… well, I bought mine for about $10 through Amazon Warehouse, and that’s all I’d say it’s worth. Considering this is a Warehouse article, perhaps the previous owner used hot glue after the foam inserts fell out. Either way, it’s shoddy that the inserts fell out OR had to be reglued to the plastic box.

I understand why some reviews say it is just a plastic box with sponge in it but I will give it a 5* because it's the best way to store your brushes specially if you're traveling with them. I've spent a lot of money on my brushes and this keeps them safe so for me it is worth buying. Nothing touches bristles.

Great sturdy case that helps keeping your brushes safe. The foam inserts holds the brushes so you don’t have to worry about your brush heads getting bending or dulling the point. Manages to hold a lot of my brushes much better to the brush rolls.
