Fit on no problems, rubber bushings to keep the quiet and fit is good. Probably will never use them as a tow point but I think you could tow an aircraft carrier with one of these things!

BACKGROUND:I own a Jeep Wrangler and as anyone who spends any time offroading along can tell you, you can never have too much recovery gear. Besides, it's better to have it and not need it than the other way around.So, when Vine suggested this item, I decided it might be worth a review in exchange for the heavily discounted price that I get it for.INITIAL OBSERVATIONS:Might as well start off with various measurements. These were achieved with a digital caliper -- definitely not the best machinist quality caliper around, but it has been accurate enough for me over the years.Measured pin diameter: 0.887"Measured shackle thickness: 0.907"Distance across shackle ring: 0.943" to 1.108"Distance across flats of portion of shackle where pin goes through: 1.824"Length of exposed pin inside shackle: 1.385"Total width of shackle: 3.861"Distance from pin to inner edge of shackle ring: 3.92"Inner diameter of shackle ring: 2.281"COMPLAINTS / ISSUES:If you are using these shackles with chains, the fact that it has a somewhat sharp corner on the inner ring probably is not going to matter much, but if you are using it with a strap or rope, it is going to create pressure points and that is where the strap or rope is probably going to fail.IMPRESSIONS:The shackles definitely seem beefy and I suspect that they will withstand everything that I might use them for,POSSIBLE FUTURE MODS:Maybe make some pulleys to put inside of them so that they can also act as snatch blocks.CONCLUSION:They appear to meet their specifications and to be perfectly acceptable for the task at hand, although I do have concerns about the somewhat sharp pressure points on the inner surface of the ring. As such, I woiuld give this a 3.0 star (i.e. "average") rating.STAR RATING SCALE:1 -- Poor product; Waste of money at ANY price; Blatant lies in the original listing.2 -- Below average product; Something about it is a bit lacking; It could be conflicted specifications or errors in the original listing or that it was arrived with damage that was unlikely to have occurred during shipping and should have been caught in either the manufacturer's or seller's quality control.3 -- Average product; Meets expectations, perfectly serviceable, but does not do anything that sets it apart from similar products; Does not have some features that makes me say, "Wow, that's a neat feature".4 -- Above average product; Something about it sets it a bit above similar products on the market.5 -- Excellent product (or perhaps customer service); There is NO room for improvement whatsoever; NOTHING is perfect, so this rating *should* be EXTREMELY difficult to achieve.Ordered:2024-02-23Received:2024-03-01Reviewed:2024-03-05AmazonID:B0CKTLW3FF
