I had purchased a universal tub spout with gate valve from a local big box store because it was hard to find NPT fitting tub spout replacements. That was an unfortunate purchase because it lasted less than a year. I am very happy with my new Kohler tub spout replacement because it does not leak through the gate valve. the Kohler unit feels very heavy and sturdy in the hand. When the gate valve is engaged, it is not just a little bit in the air with the pin, it is solidly in the air and does not move. It functions very well. I did not require assembly instructions because there was no assembly parts, you just screw it onto the fitting with a little Teflon tape on the protruding pipe from the wall. The Kohler is an excellent fit and went around six times and lined up with the wall tile perfectly. This Kohler unit has a good value because it is good quality and was worth waiting a couple days to get.

I redid my bathroom when I bough my home about 11 years ago and used Moen fixtures for my faucets and tubs. I've had to replace that little white plastic piece on the Moen about 4-5 times over the years. I do believe I have hard water so I'm not sure what role that played in it. Anyway, the last time I took it off, It had corrosion that the white plastic gate wouldn't hold regardless. I was down with the tub spout divider. After looking online and at local plumbing stores, and not wanting to spend an absolute fortune, but still wanting it to match the other bronze fixtures, I ordered this one. Installation was a breeze assuming you have the correct wrench and you know righty tightly, lefty losey. This tub spout looks great and has worked well for the past year. I did apply Monster PTFE Tape to the threads on the pipe coming out. Time will tell how long it holds up. I know we're in the planned obsolescence era so even If I get 5 years out of it I guess I should be happy. Unfortunately they don't make things like they use to. I can go to my grandmother's house and her fixtures have 0 issues and are older than me!

I purchased this to replace an older Kohler tub spout where the diverter stopped workinig. This spuot was an great replacement and very easy to install and great price compared to others.

Like the title says, it fixed the constant leak out of the faucet when it should go to the shower my previous delta faucet would not. 100% of water goes to the shower head instead of down the drain and comes withba lifetime warranty against leaks. Good stuff. Thank you Kohler.

Looks great. I replaced because the original (about 12 years old) was completely gummed up from bad water before we bought a water softener. Because of this, it did not divert ALL water out the shower head, but let half the water pour out onto your feet. The replacement works great and I'm sure will last a lot longer now that we have "soft" water. Now ALL water gets diverted to the shower head instead half getting wasted on our feet.FYI: This is the THREADED version, so it threads onto a pipe and does NOT have a set screw. Ordered this to fix a spout with a broken diverter. When I opened package, this spout had a busted diverter.

The Kohler Bancroft line of shower and bath fixtures are still beautifully made and finished. Went with this spout because the standard Kohler bath spouts are not made anywhere as well as they had been. The plating on this has such luster, you can get lost in it. Hopefully Kohler doesn't send production to a cheaper Chinese factory, which seems to be what happens with so many of its bath trim kits.
