Good little pair of radios, excellent functionality, and easy to use.Sound quality was decent enough for the price, they are extremely simple with 2 knobs.1 knob for channels, 1 for volume, and a PTT button.Light enough to be carried in your pocket most of the day, my wife and I used it when we moved 3 states over and it was a wise purchase.I will say this, sometimes it did pick up either fast food or trucker's radio signals, leading to some confusion and funny moments.

These seem to function well even when not in line of sight. Like within a building. Your not gonna get 3 miles range unless it's like pointed directly down a mountain at the other radio with nothing in the way.Odds are youre not going to need that kind of distance anyway. Having only 2 controls keeps things simple, especially for kids. I have another baufeng and it works well so I stayed with the brand. They have already been dropped a few times and held up fine so they seem well made. Happy with my purchase and would reccomend this product.

Overall, the product is definitely great value. Nice compact size to fit in your pocket, or use the clip attachment. For battery life, it lasted us the full day of constant use. For sound, quality was ok, and I can understand what I hear from it, but clarity does drop the farther the distance is. In my case, we used it for a camping trip as well as during drives, and we believe that we were able to stay in contact with each other over a distance of a quarter mile!

We got it for our kids to use, but also for us to communicate with them. It sometimes works great but unfortunately isnt reliable. Sometimes the buttons stick or it just wont work and have to regularly turn off and back on to get it to work right.

I bought the 2-pack to use alongside my Baofeng BF-A5 handheld radios and on the exterior they look nearly identical to the BF-A5's. It's easy to load the BF-888S radios with the same code plug as the BF-A5 radios using CHIRP software, and they do communicate with each other, but read the manual as there are some slight functional differences in regard to how they use monitor or scan mode compared to the BF-A5's. These radios also fine for vehicle-to-vehicle communication on a road trip. Build quality is fine considering the price. The antennas that ship with Baofeng radios are always junk so do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars for some Nagoya antennas too.

My wife and I use these for parking the travel trailer and setup. Long lasting battery charger and great range. Even my wife likes them. Strongly recommend.
