A very useful product with good life. I've been using this for rust removal, weld cleanup, and some metal shaping (steel, I haven't tried it on aluminum yet). In 40 grit it cuts really rather quickly, not quite as much heat build up as a grinding wheel and better control / smoother finish.The best part really is the life of the abrasive and general durability of the disc. I did finally wear one out completely, but it took a long time. That being said that incredibly long life is primarily for flat surfaces. Obviously the outside edge wears quicker, so you lose the ability to get in to corners, and some cutting speed earlier.The attached photo shows a disc finally worn all the way down. Again, it took quite a while, remained balance the entire time, didn't chip, and it all held together, no glue failure or any other issues. I'm very please with this product, good value for the money.

I have only used one of them so far and there is still quite a bit of life in it too. . .It worked well in what I used it for. . .I just wish I had seen that you can get a set of different grits BEFORE I had already ordered these 80 grit ones, as I could use different grits when either grinding or removing paint or rust or whatever. . .But overall they should work very well.

Ever since I did their trial pack, I've been hooked. These work like no other flap disk I tried prior. Be careful, they take material off like no one's business. They seem to hold up for a long time, heat barely affects them, I tend to only wait a minute or two after welding to blend the metal for what I work on.

I don’t do metal work, but I use these with my angle grinder on misc wood projects all the time. Can’t beat the price, and they hold up pretty well. I use naphtha to clean off resin build up on the disks, and then they keep on grinding.

No clue why anyone uses hard rock stones anymore. Flap discs are WAY faster and the cost increase vs. a hard rock is negligible. Shop supplies are relatively inexpensive, TIME is valuable, anything that increases productivity is worth at least a look. I keep at least one grinder loaded up with one of these flap discs at all times.These are a great product and click click delivered for a fantastic cost. Lots of flaps and a solid abrasive, they last a long time and wear well without undue vibration. The 40 grit is a great all-around flap disc for fabrication. Good for removing mill scale, beveling edges, removing burrs, and some material removal. It'll be too aggressive for any kind of polishing or similar. Nothing I do is that pretty, just utilitarian.Will definitely be ordering again.
