I didn’t know it was possible to make bookends this good. I use them on an open shelf where I keep my photo reference books, ranging from classic coffee table books like Humans and The Travel Book to how to make art like Everyday Watercolor and The Lost Art of Handwriting, and they don’t fall. Ever. It doesn’t matter how many books I take out, how uneven the weight distribution is, how many giant bricks of hardcover books I shove in, they stay in place. Period. I’ve tried other bookends with no luck, and I was starting to think it wasn’t possible and my wife was right after all and I’d sacrificed valuable storage space to the aesthetics of an open bookcase, but no! Not only are these the sturdiest, least-slippery, most hardcore bookends I’ve ever used, they’re also super cute. I purchased an etagere (furniture with open shelves) and wanted to put books on a couple of the shelves. As the shelves have no sides, I needed bookends to hold the books in place. I was despairing as I couldn't find such sturdy bookends anywhere UNTIL I hit on these. Fantastic...holds multiple large, fairly heavy books in place. When I pull a book out the remaining books may slide a bit but the bookends don't budge and nothing falls over. The rubber bottom means the shelf is not scratched or damaged. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I planned to use these to hold up record albums and photo albums in a wall unit. They are very nice and appear well made, but were not strong enough and started to bend. I doubled them up, which has solved the problem, but they are not heavy duty.

These bookends are just as described - not flimsy, no sharp or unfinished edges, attractive on the bookshelf, with furniture protection spots on the bottom. Best of several pairs of bookends I've purchased on Amazon. I liked them so much I bought another pair!

Love these bookends. Well made! They look good while holding up my granddaughters books. Saw others that cost more, so I assumed these might be cheap. They aren't. Very happy with my purchase.
