Even though this is designed for cars I wanted to use it for my metal roof that has been having leak issues from the horrible storms we have been having for 2 years, where the wind was blowing so hard it was driving rain up under the ridge cap and though the standard vented roof weather barrier(it is sort of like a more dense loofah sponge). I was quite anxious about what this would cost as I needed over 150ft of it, but to my great surprise I found this deal. This weather striping is great quality and for the price, even if you don't need an entire roll, go with this one anyways. The stuff is insanely expensive everywhere else. 100% ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘

I am not using this seal on car doors. When I go glamping, I take a kit with me that has a ton of essential tools, fuses, wiring connections, etc. in an attempt to be prepared for just about anything, combined with what I have stored full time in my camper or truck, it usually works out well. Unfortunately, though, with my dog taking up 2/3 of my backseat, if both my wife and son go glamping then my 'kit' has to go in the bed of the truck & on two occasions some rainwater has leaked into the 'yellow top' container. Luckily, leakage was small enough not to cause any real issues, but my goal is to ensure the 'yellow top' container is much more water resistant. So, enter this seal strip (aka, weather stripping). I have had many weather strip kits over the years, so my first impression of this kit was that it looked a bit 'messy' given that much of the red backing tape was pretty kinked, for lack of a better description. The 'seal' did go on quite well though, it was flexible enough to easily go around the rounded corners of the yellow top lid and overall was just easy to work with. Before applying the entire seal, I did about a 2-inch test strip on the yellow top, mostly because I wanted to ensure the top would still connect properly with this seal attached. That went well, as far as the lid goes, but I was a bit concerned with how easily that 2-inch strip peeled/pulled off when I went to remove it. Yeah, I am a bit concerned about how sticky this seal will end up being. In defense of this seal, I did not allow it to set AT ALL and it was only under pressure for a few seconds.I plan to let this seal bake in my very hot AZ garage for a week or so and then do a little test to see how well the adhesive is holding up. I will report back after that test & if it ends up better than my initial quick test then I will update my review to 5-stars.

The weather stripping looks good but the adhesive is not what I expected. I cleaned the contact area before installation and it doesn't seem to be attached as securely as would be necessary

I'm using this as a window seal to replace some other weather stripping that I had previously purchased for the same purpose. The quality and performance of this is better. It is adhering well to the vinyl frame that I stuck it to and it is doing a better job of sealing the airflow than the previous product I had tried.

Excellent weather stripping. Get it right the first time. Adhesive is unforgiving. Do not place where the door hinges. It will rub along the bottom of the door Leave a few inches for opening travel.
