After the seeds soak 8 hours or so, I just left them in the soak overnight, then I put them in the tray with a fill of spring water and in 3 or 4 days I think. green grass blades started to show. Had to keep the tray out of reach! my cat was destroying the little garden before we had a beautiful little bushy like result. my first "soil free" cat grass kit.

My cats love grass during the winter months in Wisconsin, and this is wonderful compared to potting in dirt constantly. The seeds sprouted roots quickly. The big weakness I see is that while the base is heavy enough to keep the unit still, the section that lifts out from the water is much lighter and, via other reviews, I'm guessing is going to be problematic. Tabs to snap down over the top of this would be perfect, but I'm sure a couple pieces of duct tape should do the trick.

The seeds grow very quickly. My cat has been trying to eat it and it’s been under a week since I started growing them.

The grass grew quite quickly. And, was appealing to our cat. However, the water base is not a great idea. It over fills easily and leaks all over. And, as the cat tries to eat, the grass pulls out of the planter. I will be going back to a soil based planting.

This grass grew super fast and I was surprised. However, my cats seem to like to pull it and do a couple of chomps and then leave it. The grass feels rubbery. Not sure that is good or bad as the cats seem okay with it. Other than the odd feel of the grass everything is fine.

Grows really well and fast however when the cat tried to eat it, the grass all came out in huge clumps roots and all. Didn't last long.

The cat grass grows really well, but when the cats start to eat it, it all comes up and out of the tray. There’s got to be a way to make a better design so it’s not so messy and so that the cats can actually eat it.
