This is a great little thermometer, wide enough on the base that it doesn't fall through the grates, and you can hang out as well. It let me know that my oven runs about 15° cooler than the thermostat states. This is very helpful information. It is easy enough to read, though I still need to bend way down to look straight on at it. If there were a way they could design the dial to be read from a standing position it would be very helpful. The problem is the frame of the thermostat blocks and shades the reading of all the numbers at the top. Fixing this design issue would make it darn near perfect.

I've cross referenced this with a grill thermometer and it appears to be accurate. The only problem I have had is knocking it off the oven shelf when putting in a pan. However, it was not damaged. So far, a useful item for the kitchen.

I purchased an oven thermometer over 37 years ago when I wanted to check the old gas stove in our apartment & I've used it off & on ever since. When it seemed to be taking too long for my convection, counter-top oven to bake, I measured the temp with my old Springfield thermometer. I was surprised at the readings and decided to purchase another oven thermometer so I would have a comparison. I used the CDN High Heat oven thermometer along side the Springfield and was surprised when both temperatures agreed. They agreed each of the three times I tested them. I'm satisfied with my purchase and sad at the same time because the last time I tested them, I dropped my old Springfield thermometer...now it reads 300 degrees when it's not being used. At least I still have the new CDN thermometer to use.One of the features I like about the CDN thermometer is the two way hook which makes it much easier to place anywhere in the oven. I don't like the small size of the numbers. They are much, much smaller than the ones on my old oven thermometer. It is common to find an oven's temperature to be off more than 50 degrees F. Thermostats don't work as well in older ovens; leaky door seals can cause hot or cool spots that can affect the thermostat too. When we purchased a new smooth-top electric range 8 years ago, I tested the oven with my old Springfield and found it to be over 50 degrees cooler than my setting. I was able to calibrate my oven's thermometer to the correct temperature. The CDN High Heat Oven Thermometer, model POT750, features a durable glass lens, stainless steel housing, a two-way hook & large base so it can be placed anywhere in the oven & is perfect to monitor high heat oven temperatures because it will read from 100 to 750 degrees Fahrenheit / 50 to 400 degrees Celsius. It comes with a 5-year limited warranty. Made in China.

We use this primarily for our stone pizza ovens, but it's so convenient to hang on a rack in our convection ovens as well!

Easy to read, accurate and quick to respond to oven temperatures. Large dial with ranges makes it easy to see the temperature.

I have had my CDN thermometer for quite a few years now and only just discovered a trove of products I haven't given a review on. I think that's a good thing as I have had plenty time with the product to now give my long-term thoughts.Let me start by saying that the accuracy of the thermometer is just fine. That's super important because it is clearly the most important reason you are buying this device. So, I don't feel that its accuracy is something that needs to be improved upon. What I do dislike about it was that there is just no good place to put it. The little hanging tab doesn't seem to work for my oven as it hangs in a way that it puts the thermometer right in the way of your incoming oven item (maybe you can see where my grates can sit from my image below). And when you sit it on the grates, it often times falls through. This drives me crazy because usually it will fall once everything is ripping hot, so you're in there, with this heat blasting at your face and your fireproof gauntlet gloves trying to fish this thing out while not trying to get an immediate 3rd degree burn on your arms. Also, if you put in a large casserole dish, or something that fills the oven, and your thermometer is sitting on the grates, the only place to put it is in the far back corner. And what good is that? The temperature there is clearly very different than in the middle of the oven, where things are cooking. So, finding a spot is tricky for me.Then, after a year or so, it started getting that sticky brown baked on lacquer that Pyrex and other dishes get when in high baking heat. I'm a vegetarian so it's not like I had bacon on a sheet, popping fatty oil all over the place or something. I have no idea how the brown lacquer developed but try as I might, it does not come off with normal cleansers.Overall, I suppose it works though it's not great for my situation.

I use this in a sublimation oven to make sure e eye thing is perfect temp. It is very easy to use and read the temp. The temperature was always accurate to what it showed. The display of the number are easy to read. It fits perfect just in a back corner. Just wipe off after using making cleaning a ease.

We were having issues with the termperature in our electric stove and so I got two thermometers (to test them off against each other) but while we are awaiting the second one (it comes tomorrow) we did test this one and it proved that the oven is not reading correctly -- the second thermometer will really clinch that finding, assuming they agree. This unit is inexpensive, simple and feels well made. Recommended.

What I really liked about this item is,it's just perfect for what I need it for.Being magnetic it adheres to the wall of my small oven and stays put!! Others I've had attached to oven shelf and when you move your dishes etc they would fall off!!This one stays put.
