I had purchased two other smaller units, which I no longer use, as this one is much larger so easier to read. I have it mounted to the stove pipe off our whole house wood stove in the basement. I also have two electronic thermocouple readouts on the unit, one up stares and one downstairs, as I'm always careful not to get the stove too hot. This Wood Stove Thermometer shows the safe operating range and has helped me line out the stove to keep the temp low enough to heat the house without overheating as it surely can, thus conserving on wood in the process. I highly recommend this thermometer for it's accuracy and ability to quickly following the actual temp - both highly desirable functions.

Edited to add that the seller reached out to me to offer a refund. I didn’t expect that with something so inexpensive. It was very generous, and their communication was quick, clear and respectful. The thermometer was still not great, but I am increasing my rating for the seller since they were so quick to make it right.We ordered this and used it for the first wood stove fire of the year. On it’s very first day, the temperature probe rotated ALL the way to the far aide of the red zone, even though the fire was nowhere near that hot, and stayed there. We didn’t use the wood stove again for a week, but a week later it was still rotated all the way to the red. As the stove pupe began to heat, the dial started turning into the bottom black quarter (6 o’clock position). It cannot even be rotated into the green quarter by hand and stay there. It’s completely useless for a temperature reading or even an estimate, and not fixable. I cannot recommend this product.

We have a soapstone wood burner in our walkout lower level & decided to get a new temp gauge to make sure I was making proper adjustments to get it to the proper temp to activate the catalyst, so I bought a pair of these VERY DISAPPOINTING pieces of crap. They look good, but sitting side-by-side are over 100 degrees different in the temps they are registering. Definitely Chinese junk that I just threw away.

Arrived on time ,excellent value for money . Purchased as advised by installation company , the stove thermometer provided me woth guidance & reassurance of fire temp during first few burns . The stove required a few slpw burns to initally settle in . I was able to clearly guage the temp & reduce airflow to ensure a slow burn

Husband bought this for our new burner and thinks it's great tells you the heat temperature when the wood is burning and gives you an accuracy reading very useful and easy to read.
