So, my rating is based on how I am using this cheese slicer in my pasta making, so your mileage may vary if you're using it to cut really hard cheeses which are obviously different than soft pasta. For my purposes though, this tool is great for cutting pasta off the extruder die. It fits nicely between the handles on my pasta machine and cuts cleanly. It's light and easy to handle and clean. The wire seems to be secured well between the "arms" of the cutter, but as I stated, cutting soft pasta is going to be pretty different than cutting hard cheese so I can't speak to how well this will hold up, or how well the wire will stay put, when cutting hard cheese.

I am happy with this cheese slicer. But this is my second time purchasing because the wire broke on my first one seemingly prematurely. At least they aren’t expensive.I suppose the wire is replaceable, as there are Philips screws holding the wire. I didn’t try that repair yet but if I find wire, I think I’ll give that a shot too.What I do like about it is that the wire is right at the end of the slicer, so you can slice all the way through the cheese. I’ve had slicers where the wire just doesn’t go all the way to the cutting board. This one does, if you just press directly on the wire on both sides of the cheese.The handle is fairly comfortable as well.It is very simple, so easy to clean.

I purchased this slicer twice. The first time, it broke off the first time I used it. I assumed it was just a one time defective item. I reordered a replacement at no charge. The exact same thing happened. It broke off while using it the first time. Though the price seems right, IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. Buyer beware.Never in my lifetime has a product been this defective. I rarely write negative reviews of products. But in this situation it was more then merited. Dont waste your money.

Yes, this does cut the cheese, and does so fairly silently. However, the placement of the wire does not allow you to cut all the way through the cheese, leaving a little bit hanging; and nobody likes anything to be hanging after they’ve cut the cheese.

Pretty simple device and works just as expected. IDK why I've waited so long to get a cheese slicer, lol, this was way easier than using a steak knife or something. The great thing is this is flat so it fits very easily in a kitchen drawer, unlike a differently shaped gadget.
