This little CNC is great. I can do a lot of work using different CAD systems to create designs. I especially am enjoying a monthly subscription with Carveco that gives me access to a lot of good tutorials for producing lots of different designs, including things like inlays. I’m also using auto cad fusion 360 with good results. The one suggestion I have is that the provided spindle is pretty weak. I replaced it with a water cooled 2 hp spindle from Amazon and it can cut through anything. The carriage and drives seem to be very sturdy and allows me to get good cuts even with the larger spindle. I’ve also found that sainsmart customer service is great and very quick to send parts if needed.

I purchased this machine on cyber Monday in 2023. I was looking for a CNC that had more stability, accuracy and repeatability than the belt driven machine I currently had at the time. I wasn't disappointed. The packaging was about the best I've ever seen, assembly was a breeze and it was square and level right away. The screw drive and linear rails make this quite rigid and reliable. I used it for about ten months when it stopped working. After contacting customer support and describing the symptoms it was determined that the power supply went bad. They sent me a new one free of charge which solved the problem completely. I can't say enough good things about the machine and level of support I received.

This is a solid little CNC! We had to add some extra grease to keep things quiet... and very hard to remove the couplers when upgrading the expansion kit.But we are very happy with it!We reached out to customer support who was very helpful and quick to respond as well... Highly recommend the product and company.

Came very nicely packed and easy to set up. Closer to 30+ minutes with the hand tools provided.Speaking of the tools provided. The screw driver is bent like someone used it as a crowbar.Iv reached out twice to genmitsu about the stuck left rail. And heard nothing.As im still available for a return with amazon if i dont hear back from genmitsu itll be on it way back to amazon possibly for the foxalien instead.Update: after nearly 2 months of very slow emails back and forth, they provided a new machine. Jamie was a very nice representative and easy to work with, but don’t expect quick responses. And don’t expect this machine without many modifications to do what the youtubers claim it can do.

After operating the unit lightly for a few weeks, routing pine and poplar thin boards for test signs for the family, the unit began to squeak loudly on the X axis, I tried multiple lubricants recommended by the vendor technical support (which all they gave me was a search on Amazon) the noise would not go away, after several complaints to the vendor, they finally sent me a new X axis gantry, as soon a I received that and repaired the unit, the left side Y axis started doing the same thing, so once again I had to plead with the vendor for a new assembly. I still have not received the maintenance recommendations from Genmitsu for this system, nor the maintenance parts you will need for them. I will say that the quote for the Lead Screw Nut and backlash nut are not cheap and are proprietary to Genmitsu. All in all, customer service was okay to work with, the product works acceptable, would hope that they would provide more maintenance and repair information.

The unit is great. It was easy to assemble and there are a ton of YouTube videos to help with bringing it online. I intend to carve mostly hardwoods like Maple, Cherry and Walnut. It does a good job using a V bit but the excessive chatter with a 1/4" or 1/8" end mill bit makes a mess of the project when carving pockets or profiles.The unit I have had too much play in the X and Y axis simply due to the play in the spring loaded nuts that are driven by the lead screws. I was able to eliminate that chatter by disassembling the nuts, tapping some existing holes in the floating side to add set screws. This allowed me to carefully tighten the set screw until the backlash was gone but the lead screw could still operate freely. Added some loctite to prevent the set screws from loosening over time.Unfortunately, the spindle motor assembly that was supplied as well as the upgrade spindle with higher rpm also flex too much and the chatter is still unacceptable. The next modification will be to upgrade the spindle motor to a trim router to see if I get the chatter to stop.I'm overall very happy with the unit but I want to improve the performance.For the beginner, Easel Inventables software works great and is easy to use. The first 30 days is free but after that a subscription is required.
