We were in search of replacing our smeg coffee grinder when we replaced our broken smeg coffee machine with the Fellow Aiden coffee maker. We went with the Fellow Ode initially due to its draw of being a "premium" grinder. But we returned it after a week of usage since it wasn't meeting our expectations especially given the price of the grinder. I then found this grinder on Amazon and decided to try it out given all the positive reviews it got. I was hesitant at first since it was an unfamiliar brand and it seemed like a new product with little proven history. After using the grinder for over a month I can say that it's been way more enjoyable than all the previous grinders I've used (including the costly Ode). Here are the main pros with the grinder:- the synced digital scale works great (it'll go slightly over the set amount by .5 gram or so but no big deal for me) and this makes it super quick and effortless to grind the exact amount of beans I need each morning. I don't think I've seen any other grinders with this feature- the anti static feature actually works! - it really is a mess free experience. For example the ode advertises this feature but it didn't work nearly as well as this- the grinder is relatively quiet and sounds like it has plenty of power- the bean hopper is adequately sized (I grind 60oz of beans each morning without having to pour slowly or carefully)- the black version looks good (not as good as the ode, but no other grinders do imo) and matches my black Fellow Aiden coffee machine.- the price is great especially given how well it worksThe 1 improvement I would make is improving the initial pairing/sync of the grinder and the scale each time I turn it on, the scale will sometimes turn off after sync/tare and I would have to turn it on again. I also wish it would auto tare each time it's powered on so I don't have to manually push the button each time. These are not huge issues and don't slow down my routine that much especially given how much time the scale Integration saves me. But improving this in the future would make this a "perfect" grinder.

This MOKKUM grinder is absolute perfection. Okay, the grinders are not flat burrs; thus, they are conical burrs. But they do a really good job at delivering an unbelievably consistent grind quality. I really expected that the very fine grind for espresso and the very coarse grind for a French press to be at least a little inconsistent but both were absolutely, wonderfully consistent for both. I did expect that the grinds between these two to be as promised—consistent—and they are. Outstandingly so.The included coffee scale is integrated with the grinder through Bluetooth and connects not only automatically but very quickly—almost literally in the blink of an eye. This scale is also very accurate as any coffee scale must be called a true coffee scale. I tested it by weighing 25 batches of beans of different weights 4 times each but not back to back and every time the scale gave me the same weight for each weigh-in. Now that’s consistency. The scale is very quick in providing the weight placed on the scale’s display. Different from most scales, you can tare the item placed on the scale by one of two ways: 1) by tapping the word ZERO on the scale itself; or 2) by pushing in on the TARE dial on the face of the grinder. The latter works as well because the scale is integrated with the grinder via Bluetooth and is easier to see than the word ZERO on the scale itself. Finally, this scale is rechargeable and a USB-A to UISB-C charging cable is included in the box along with an easy-to-read owners manual. I urge you to read the manual before attempting to use the grinder.***Back to the grinder. I also have—and will now give away as a gift—a recently purchased Oxo coffee grinder which has done a decent job for every coffee brewing mode except for espresso. It simply does not grind the coffee beans fine enough for an excellent espresso even though Oxo makes the claim it does. The grinder gives a somewhat slight inconsistent coarse grind when the bean hopper is turned all the way to the coarse setting. However, very few grinds did get through the my French press’ steel filter and was never a real issue for me. But not with this MOKKUM grinder. With this MOKKUM grinder I have now tested all six multiple grind ranges and not once did it fail to give me a consistent grind throughout the batch. In fact, and I can only speak to my grinder delivered to me, it does a grinding job of giving consistent results as does my more expensive Eureka Mignon grinder. And the Eureka Mignon has flat burrs rather than the lesser expensive conical burrs found in this MOKKUM grinder. One other plus is its ease in cleaning. The bean hopper comes off by a simply one-quarter turn counterclockwise followed by a very easy short turn of the handle of the top conical burr. It’s just that simple to get to the burrs and then cleaning them with either the brush provided with the grinder or better still with a long handled brush that you can purchase online is a breeze. As great as the grinder is, there is, however, one small negative that I must mention to keep my review honest and true. The one thing I found that I did not see in my other aforementioned grinder is quite a bit of retentions. I was quite surprised that there was as much as there were. In fact, in order to get what I believed to be 95 or so percent clean of retentions I had to start and stop the grinder four (4) times and at the same time lightly tapping on the bean hopper lid in order to do so. The total amount was just shy of one-half tablespoon (1/2 Tbsp.). This amount was left in the grinder after grinding only 17.5 gms. of Sumatra Gayo beans which are deemed an oily bean. Finally, there is only one thing I would like to see changed if and when MOKKUM comes out with an updated version of this grinder: replace the plastic catch cup with one made of stainless steel since the body of the grinder is made of metal and the catch cup’s cover be hard plastic rather than silicone as it is now. That it is plastic with a silicone cover is not a game changer by any means whatsoever; however, I would rather pay an extra few dollars for the change to stainless steel if deemed necessary to do so.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COFFEE GRINDER. Simply stated, IT’S OUTSTANDING.***One thing to remember, DO NOT REMOVE the label that is affixed to the scale’s display. I learned the hard way. By trying to remove it, it left a very nasty sticky residue of glue behind. It won’t bother you because when you put the silicone mat on top of the scale it will completely hide the label. What I did I not do is try to remove the remaining glue by acetone for fear that it would mar the scale’s plastic cover.
