I wanted a ceramic cup with a flat bottom and the little ridges on the bottom of this cup do provide a flat surface for keeping the cup contents warm, unlike mugs being sold separately on Amazon that claim to be flat but are not. I purchased the black mug instead of the prettier mugs with gold lettering or designs because I have seen gold lettering disappear on previously owned mugs in the dishwasher. I prefer ceramic over stainless steel (that some users have found do stain) because it is both dishwasher and microwave safe. Stainless steel mugs usually come with removable coasters, a bit of an inconvenience from my perspective, but that's a matter of personal preference.This set only had six reviews when I bought it, but I found identical sets elsewhere on Amazon except with ceramic not wooden cup covers . Hundreds of reviewers were positive about the quality of their purchase. So relying on those reviewers I bought this and am not disappointed. The mug looked small out of the box and I was worried but it holds a 10 ounce cup of coffee with enough room left over to comfortably add some milk.The warmer itself has a larger warming area a bit larger than others I've owned, hence the removable silicone pad.The only thing I do not like about this set is that the LED display is on the front, not the top, where it would be more conveniently legible . But that's just nit picking. It also doesn't reach the 170 degrees of my other warmer, but it gets to 167 degrees, close enough.The smaller surface area holds the heat in better than my other mugs even without the lid.I am pleased with my purchase. The mug even without the gold lettering/design is attractive and my cup of choice for display on my Ninja K-cup compatible coffee maker when not in use.

The manufacturer thought ahead to protect you by including a silicon ring to place under cups smaller (like the one included) than the average size cup. This ring is to place the smaller cup on, covering the hot plate not used, so burns from the exposed plate will not burn your hands. Bravo manufacturer! This coffee warmer is a great price compared to others. It has multiple levels so you can have your coffee at the right temp. Easy to use and you can use many other types of mugs. I opted for the basic black which is nice. If you don’t drink your coffee fast then you need this!

Loved the color and the packaging was spot on! Easy to put together and heat up to keep warm. The value of the product is perfect and not too expensive.
