Bought these for my rice, sugar and flour. These are airtight I don’t have to tighten them too tight for them to be airtight. That’s what I love about it and nothing cannot get into it even if something is spilled on my bucket nothing is gonna get into my bucket. I bought them I about 3 or 4 months ago and they’re holding up wonderful.

These buckets are a perfect size for my new interest in storing wheat berries. I was not prepared for the difficulty in "snapping" on the gamma lid rings. I did watch two You Tube videos on how to snap the lids on, but I wasn't about to stand on the buckets and stomp the lids into place. I did have to get someone to help me and we used a rubber mallet along with a metal mallet to get the job done.

[Edit] I was pleasantly surprised when the vendor contacted me and said they were refunding the purchase price. This purchase was made several months ago so I was not expecting that. I am modifying my one-star rating to three stars because this kind of effort can be considered part of my order, AND... the other colors that I purchased went together fine. [End Edit.} COULD NOT PUT IT TOGETHER. I have several of these types of containers... great for food storage... but getting them together is a serious game of press-fit. For some reason, these blue ones (I also have white and red ones) were not going together. My son took a three-lb mallet to them and banged on them quite a while, but one of them refused to go together properly. Maybe a bad batch? since other colors assembled okay.

the issue I had is the fit of bucket to the lid ring not being air tight, I think the screw part is air tight

I thought these were quite expensive for small plastic buckets but, thought I’d try them because of the fantastic “airtight and leakproof†gamma lid system. They are neither. Did a test today while washing for the first time. They leaked when inverted. They don’t leak from the ring you snap on the on the bucket but do leak from the screw on gamma lids. Maybe I got some bad ones, who knows? So, don’t expect longterm airtight or leakproof storage with these.
