Crosby G-209A Alloy Screw Pin Shackles are among the best you can buy and are worth every penny IMHO. I OVERLAND, and was exposed to a tragic scene where someone stuck was being pulled out by another person where their tow gear failed and put the recoiling rope with gear attached through the windshield into the driver's chest. His widow and children would have been much better served with QUALITY tow hardware. Static loads mean very little with high dynamic loads when you are pulling someone out with a heavy super duty 4x4 pickup.So, while you can get cheaper shackles out of China, is it worth the cost and risk to save a few bucks?I have two 3/4" shackles in use for about 2 years with no signs of rust even though carried in the bed of pickup in all sorts of weather. I am adding these 1" version to my tractor! I use those 3/4" shackles with Factor55 connections to my winch and tow points on my vehicle.Do yourself and your family a favor and put that Chinese shackle in the recycle bin and get some of these AWESOME Crosby G-209A Shackles. Simply awesome in real world use.
