I am very pleased with the build quality of the Danco (88703) Tub Spout with Diverter. The finish is fine and the fit is perfect. It was a nice surprise to see how well this diverter unit seals the spout 100% so that all the water heads up to the shower head when the diverter is engaged. No drips and no dribbles at all. My installation has the 4" threaded outlet pipe in the wall and this spout snugged up fine with that. The kit does include additional connection pieces to accommodate other installation configurations if needed. I would highly recommend this diverter spout without hesitation.

Follow instructions and it should take 15-20 minutes start to finish. Works as expected and no leaks

This is the second one I have purchased and love the low cost and how smoothly the tab works. When I took it out of the package, it struck me as very attractive, first of all, but it was light weight. I would like real brass but these were much more affordable. It was VERY easy to install and my 17 year old daughter installed them both, in a very short time. They have worked perfectly, one for about 6 months now and efficiently direct ALL of the water to either the shower or tub, with no dripping. I will purchase again, when needed!

This is as 'is what it is' as it gets. They work, they're cheap, they're decent. Of course if you're diverter-less your 'reasonable priced' choices are vastly limited, as diverter-less costs about double what fancy diverter versions cost, go figure. Spending under $50, Danco stuff is GTG, you open their products up and can figure it out without another trip somewhere. Get the matching trim ring to doll it up and take a relaxing bath...

This tub spout with diverter has it all. I personally have never come across one of these that did not allow at least a few drops of water through the bottom spout, once the shower diverter is pulled up to change the water flow. This Danco spout allows absolutely NO water dripping once the spout has been pulled, and it stays that way for the entire duration of the shower. Unbelievably satisfying. I have not even heard of this being a possibility after reading many reviews and item documentations of tub spouts with diverters. They all say that even a brand new one out of the box will drip a little. Not this one. I may have a magically blessed spout, and no others ever produced will do what this one does, but I would rather think that you could get the same results if you purchase one. I highly recommend it. It was very easily installed, just used the supplied plumbers tape on pipe connections and installed in the reverse order that I removed the old one. There are plenty of tutorial videos if you need any additional guidance. It also automatically drops the spout diverter back down when water is turned off (which my old diverter would not do). Only downside for me, and it is totally my fault, is the length of the spout is just a few milliliters shorter that the one it was replacing. That causes a gap of about 3mm between the shower tile and the base of the spout. Haven't decided yet if I will silicone the gap - reviews and information make me hesitant. Still, overall, it's not a big deal. I Highly recommend this spout and would purchase one again.

Things you need before apply tub spout:If you have as mine I bought:WM Harvey 043010 Stainless Plumbers Putty, then I purchase the DANCO Decorative Metal Tub Spout Remodeling Cover Ring, Chrome, 1-1/2-Inch ID and 3-5/8-Inch OD If you have a non threaded pipe only use the plastic piece that has a screw on it. If you have a hole like mine seal it first make sure there no caulk residue from old tub spout sand it down, then clean up with water and sponge. After it dries apply plumber putty not to much you only want to apply to hole around pipe if it gets outside hole make sure it smooth wait till it dries. Put the Danco cover ring leave the sponge like material on next you put the plastic part with screw and screw on lightly then move that plastic part and the screw should be facing bottom screw it tight then place tub spout turn it at least five times

It doesn’t work. I have a non threaded copper pipe. Used plumbers tape and it still leaks from the back. Don’t buy this cheap garbage.

The washer in my current tub spout needed replacing. I decided to change the entire spout as the current one is at least 20 yrs old and I wanted to keep the gold look to match the other tub accessories! I will say Amazon is good to look for items in not as popular finishes. I couldn't find a gold spout in any of the local stores.The package came with instructions. Even if you are experienced it doesn't hurt to read it once over. I'm not a handyman nor a man but I was able to follow the instructions and install the new spout...with a little help from You Tube! The most difficult part was removing the old spout.Overall the product was as described and priced right. It's basic which was all I was looking for in addition to the gold finish. Do make sure you measure the length of the copper pipe before you purchase to make sure this one is the correct fit.
