I had ordered another shade from this same company for my kitchen, but it was a light filtering one, which is what I wanted there. I wanted a room darkening one in my living room so it could be dark if I wanted to watch movies. This was an easy installation, I'm a 70-year-old female and had no problem. Please know that the size that you order is exactly the size that will come. Some shade companies subtract a certain amount from the sides, but this company does not. So what you order is exactly what will come. So if you want more space on either side of your blind, between the blind and the window wall, subtract a quarter or half inch from the total width...for an I side mount. Take a look at my pictures and you can see how close it is to the sidewall. I wish I had subtracted a quarter inch, but they fit and still slide just fine. And maybe this is better for a room darkening because no light sneaks through on the side. They appear to be well constructed. The price was competitive.

they definitely black out the room. I love them. I bought mine a size bigger so i could cut to length i needed.

I wouldn’t give this an easy installation.The main issue we had was this was an outside mount, I have renewal by Anderson windows, not drilling any holes in those. Unfortunately even though it was ordered as an outside mount we had to order a spacer to put under the mounting brackets to clear the half inch depth if the frame. We contacted customer service and thank you for answering quickly. But they didn’t have anything like that for an outside mount. I can’t be the only customer going around a framed window.I will say the product looks very nice and I hope to be using it for many years, seems a nice quality, nonissue with that.

These blinds were easy to install and really do what they say they do. I replaced the blinds in one bedroom and compared to the old shades still up in the room beside it, it looks like night and day (literally). These keep the room dark, even when it is bright and sunny outside. I would highly recommend them.
