I love the digital read out, and it seems to work well. I've made several quart size jars or Kiefer using it. It's actually made for a larger jar, so you need to wrap it up tight, and tape it together because the provided velcro only works when it's on large kombucha jar. But it will work for either with a little ingenuity.

After leaving this item on for 8 hours and checking it regularly. This item heats up in one spot but does not heat evenly. I would not buy this again or at all if I know this. If your looking for something like this pick a different one.

I took a chance on this one despite the limited reviews because it was the only product I could find that had a thermostat that would control the temperature properly.I track temperature using temperature strips on the top and bottom of the jar and with this wrap I'm able to easily maintain the average temperature in the ideal range. You will see a temperature difference across the jar from top to bottom due to convection so it takes a few days of finding the exact setting that gives you the best overall temperature range.I have the temperature probe located inside the jar but above the liquid to avoid any contamination. You could also tape it to the outside of the jar but it might not be as accurate at being proportional to the liquid temperature.

Unfortunately, there isn't much to review about this product, because I live in Europe and the power supply is not compatible, hence I had to return it, unopened and un used.I wish they could make these gadgets more versatile.
