I bought this since it said it was for a 2018 equinox. It was very loose and too big and I came off in the car wash.

This sits over the capless filler port. If you live in sandy areas, or area's in the winter that use a lot of salt or calcium on the roads like I do, this is VERY helpful in keeping grit out of our gas tank that will ruin your fuel pump.Don't be like me, this is my 3rd one. These are black and there is no place to connect them to my truck. So twice I have laid this black cap on my black tonneau cover and forgot to put it back. I drive off and POOF, it falls off and disappears. If you can, try to find a way to attach it via a rope or have some sort of system so you don't leave them behind. At least they are cheap, so not a major expense to replace it.

I live on a gravel road where there is a lot of dust and dirt. The Cap works great. It needs a strap connected to it so you don't lose it while fueling your vehicle. My wife lost the last one I had, because she forgot to put it back on. It does help to keep the dust and dirt off your capless fuel spout.

this was a nice idea and well made, but didnt fit my 2018 chevy silverado like it says on this site. loose fit and it would bounce off easy and if not for the fuel lid cover, it would be gone

Not to sound like a boomer but what was wrong with the conventional style gas cap? I had to buy this because the flap on my camaro broke off inside the neck. I had to use pliers to bend the flap inside the neck so I could pull it out. This covers the neck for peace of mind. There is a second inner flap that prevents evap codes and such from flagging.

Capless gas tank should have a cap to keep the dirt and water out of the fuel.

I wasn't sure about purchasing this for my gas tank, but it works great. We live on gravel road and so far no dirt can get in.
