This is an outstanding product!!! Great design as a one piece "snap-on" fits on my Tenkara Rod Co Teton perfectly!! I can even rotate it so the rod logo shows. The line wraps much faster and easier without tangles or snags... way better than the "snaps with "O" rings!! It minimizes the tedium of collapsing the rod and winding the line and tippet. Getting this via Amazon Prime was a bit more expensive but fast, reliable shipping made up for it. Having a 2 Pack is also great: I can have another line wrapped up and ready to snap on/off the rod to readily swap types or lengths with tippet and fly ready-to-go!! Should be "standard equipment on Tenkara Rods!

They slip on to your rod and hold line when not in use. Not much more to be said. They work as intended.

This clips on my Sierra rod, seems tight and secure although I haven't tried it at the river. But what's the deal with the red foam? The foam simply falls out on the one I got, doesn't hold it at all. Are we supposed to glue it in place? Is that where you secure the hook? Seems like if you secure the hook in the foam then you'd have to wrap the line around the hook? Seems like a barb could nick your line and weaken it. Seems like there should be a dedicated place for the hook. And it seems like there should be something to secure the line and keep it from unwinding, I've seen other reviewers using rubber bands. It does fit in the tenkara rod metal tube though, just needs an improvement.

I was hesitant to buy these as I thought they would be too big and bulky. I think some pictures need to be added that don’t make these look so awful large. It wasn’t until I read about a guy who had the same rod as me say that it git like a glove and it it a great addition. (I have a Tenkara Rod Co Sawtooth rod.)This is NOT too big nor bulky. In fact, it really is just right. It is long enough to quickly wind your line but small enough that it isn’t heavy nor does it get in the way. I have fished with it only twice thus far but I didn’t even notice it was there. And where I go a lot of times, there is a lot of trees and it’s hard navigating with a 12-foot rod there, especially in the dark. (Yes, I probably stay too long.). These made the walk thru the trees a pleasure. This was one of mu better purchases.

Extra plastic on one end is sharp and can damage line. Same issue with the end that clips on rod, could scratch rod paint. Foam is loose. Does fit sawtooth from tenkara co perfectly. Bottom part can be all foam in my opinion. Not liking the sharp leftover plastic.

This is necessary for any ultralighter who wants to use a Tenkara rod (any brand, really). This will clip onto any brand, I've seen. I've met folks with them in a variety of faraway spots, and this line winder is simple. You detach it to use your rod, and you have to unspool the line to string it, but so it is with the round spinners, too. Now these, might put some gentle kinks in your line, but I've never known that to have a negative effect on casting the line. Once you get your line moving, it'll remember it's purpose.

Inexpensive and great for storing a line when not in use especially when getting to your favorite fishing spot. Have purchased 3 for my tenkara rods.

Depending on the diameter of your Rod, the foam piece can fall out. It could have been better secured. The material of the plastic itself is nice because it's flexible and will fit most rods. It's simplicity is in keeping with the spirit of tenkara and bests other line winding techniques.
