Common flute and overall length for minimal adjustment during tool changes. Precision ground for high degree of concentricity between shank and body diameter. Ideal for drilling in low and medium tensile strength materials. Black and bright finish.

Used this drill bit for enlarging holes in mild steel. Cuts through like buttah! Drilled at least 20 holes with this using cutting oil. Drill stayed just as sharp on the first hole as it did on the last. Purchased two sizes each the same quality.

I am sure there are much better quality and professional bits out there. But for the price, this one can't be beat. How often do you have to drill a 55/64" hole? If the answer is more than 12, maybe you should find a better option. For me, the three holes I needed this bit for came out nice and crisp. A little wobble from the extra large bit, but if you make sure your work is clamped down on the drill press firmly that can be eliminated. The bit itself, is made of quality steel and the flutes are sharp. I especially like how the edges are milled with a different type of metal, it made the three holes I had to drill come out nice. I cannot speak for the longevity of the product past that but, after three holes it was still sharp.

Purchased in 12/23 but project was put on hold. Finally got to use this drill bit on 4/20/24. Got half thru hole in steel using a lathe then the the bit twist off. I use Drill America bits, .75" and 1" diameter, to slowly enlarge the hole. Then used this 1 1/2" diameter drill. I would think the lathe would fault out/over current before a harden bit twisted apart. Looked for warranty - only 90 days. I have a number of Drill America bits and have had good success. Maybe this one was a dud. Does not look harden to me. I have to reconsider future Drill America purchases in the future. This was my one and only use of a brand new bit.

After pre-drilling my part with an annular bit to make the hole larger “didn’t have a larger annular bit†I ordered this bit and it could not cut even a single whole. Tried it out on other pieces and the bit is dull from the factory. It even has a slight wobble so maybe it’s bent. The return window passed before I tried to use this bit. Overall very disappointing and a huge waste of time
