Product Description

DS-100 Portable Carbon Monoxide Detector
DS-100 CO Detector
140Hours Standby, Type-C fast charging
Customize alarm threshold
  • 1.Lighted cigarette: Place the detector near cigarette smoke.

2.Smoldering paper: Light a piece of paper, extinguish the flame, and let it smolder. Place the detector and smoldering paper in a sealed, non-flammable container (such as a glass jar).

  • To save power, DS-100 dims the screen after 5 minutes of inactivity, but the device does NOT SHUT DOWN and CONTINUES to detector CO levels in real time. Press function button to wake up the screen.

  • Not all combustion generates enough carbon monoxide to trigger detection. In well-ventilated areas or during complete combustion (e.g., a gas stove’s blue flame or a car engine running smoothly), CO levels may be too low for the detector to activate.

  • DS-100 detects carbon monoxide (CO), not carbon dioxide (CO2). CO is a colorless, odorless, toxic gas produced by incomplete combustion. CO2 produced during complete combustion is generally harmless unless it is present in very high concentrations.

  • DS-100 is a portable detector that is ideal for travel, camping, or cars. It provides supplemental protection for the home, but it cannot completely replace a fixed carbon monoxide alarm that meets residential safety standards.

The portable CO monitor with temp and humidity worked great so far and seem to be a quality product. I bought them to use camping while running our Vevor diesel heaters and the clip makes them easy to hang out of the way while still doing their job. Quality product at great price👍

I'm a Realtor & have always made it a priority to keep people safe at unknown properties. CO has always been a concern as there is no indication of the problem if the house does not have detectors...until it's too late. Fortunately, I have never experienced a bad exposure, but we have had houses test positive once there is an inspection. I've always wanted a portable unit that I can carry with me. This is still a little chunky, but manageable. It charges via usb-c so I can keep it charged in my car. It also detects the temperature & humidity. The construction feels solid. Recommended

Going to leave my initial review below, as I feel it is still applicable and should just be viewed as a warning to others that if your device is reading 0 PPM and you are suspicious of that, I was too and I was right to be. However, I reached out to GasDoc and they sent me a replacement device which does in fact work. It is less sensitive than the Toptes one I compared it to in that picture, but works well enough for me. I changed my rating from one star to 4 stars. They were very apologetic and got right on it to get me a new one and the new one is perfect for what I'm using it for, but I can't give them 5 stars just because I feel like the quality control should be better on something that theoretically could be the difference between life and death. Not to be dramatic, but people do die from CO poisoning.Bought this to use in my ice fishing hut as I like to run a propane heater in there and just wanted some extra peace of mind. I was fishing away, surprised there was apparently absolutely 0 CO in there, but that’s what it was reading. A friend stopped by and agreed it was odd that it was reading 0. He then zipped off on his sled to grab his CO monitor, which read 16 PPM. By the end of the day, we were up high 20s/low 30s PPM and my device still read 0. I’ve reached out to the manufacturer, but as of right now, I would recommend spending the extra $20 and getting a Toptes CO monitor? Looks like there’s a bunch of different brands selling this same thing, might just be some cheap Chinese piece of trash where, yeah, most of them probably work, but does yours? You’re gonna trust your life to “it probably works”? Not me. Unfortunately I left it up in maine, so need to wait until next weekend to return it. Stay safe fellas and happy fishing (or whatever you’re doing that makes you nervous about CO lol)

This item is advertised as a, gas monitoring detector. This is no monitor. If it doesn’t detect carbon monoxide in five minutes it shuts down to conserve energy. You have to push the button to retest EVERY 5 minutes. Don’t fall asleep. The description needs to change or this needs to be taken off the market.

Very handy. I use it more as a portable, personal detector. It seems to work as it should. I use kerosene heaters and propane heaters in my garage and a shop I haveIt responds as I’d expect. At 50PPM it begins emitting a loud beeping that definitely gets your attention.

This brought us peace of mind while camping on the ice and running a propane buddy heater. Also liked the feature of being able to see the temperature inside the portable ice fishing hub house.

Spent two nights ice camping with propane heater. 1st time using a CO sensor and I can say I won't sleep in shanty again without. Great features with alarm visual and audible. Temp a nice addition too.Battery life was reasonable.

The first unit we received was not showing the full digits for temperature and humidity, and the function button wouldn't do anything else than just turn it on and off. Sent it back, and ordered a replacement. I am now reviewing this second unit. It's a somewhat heavy, sturdy feeling little gadget. It weighs 106 grams (3.7 ounces) with the cord attached. Maybe a little bigger than I expected it to be, based on the pictures of the product. It works well, I've placed it next to a much more expensive plug-in CO/Humidity/Temperature sensor. The humidity was spot on, but the temperature was 2 degrees Celsius (about 3 degrees Fahrenheit) higher on the DS-100 than the plug-in one. While my plug-in one agrees with our thermostat and other temperature sensors we have, and I know for sure that it's not 23 degrees Celsius in our home with the A/C running...Next was the testing of the carbon monoxide alarm. In a very non-scientific way, by placing the sensor with a small candle under a glass bowl, I was able to get it to sound the alarm. It was responding a little bit slow -- the candle had burned out already (where the CO concentration would be at its highest) and that was where the counter started to go up. It took about a minute from the flame going out till the sounding of the alarm, and it took a total of two to three minutes for the sensor to come to the value of 99 ppm, which was the highest reading I got to in my test. Overall, and I am in no way a scientist in this field, I think this is a very impressive little unit, great for traveling, and priced very affordable (we paid 21 Canadian dollars incl tax, which is the equivalent of about 15 US dollars).I would have given it 4.5 stars because of the faulty unit we received at first, and temperature being off in the second one, but my options were limited to either 4 or 5. Since it's mainly a carbon monoxide sensor and it performed well in my test, I felt it deserved more than 4 stars, so I landed on 5 :-)
