Used this to clean grime and crud from a spindle where solvent and a wire brush couldn't do the job. The reamer is sharp, the correct taper and finished the job within a few turns. Item was well packaged, arrived quickly and was competitively priced.

This is a very well made reamer, beautifully sharp. The only flaw is that the reamer has an even number of cutting edges. It’s more common to have an odd number of cutting edges. An even number means the reamer tends to create a slight regular pattern in the reamed hole if you are too aggressive. But it’s OK for gentle work and light pressure. Would be perfect if it had been made with an odd number of cutting edges.

This is a good quality, heavy-duty tool. If you don't know what it's for, you don't need it. If you do need it, this is a super bargain. I shopped everywhere. Including China. I think Amazon is going to win the sourcing war after finding this.

Almost all things Engineer are excellent - have many of their products now and not one has been a disappointment. I grabbed this large reamer when I saw it on a super sale price. It's much nicer than any of the cheaper reamers from India or China. Grind is excellent, steel seems like a quality tool steel and doesn't show insta-wear after a couple holes. Keep in mind that these are meant for sheet metal or thin plate, not like automotive or construction reamers...used within their intended limits they'll last for a long time (mostly true for the cheapies as well). One review here says the handle is too loose in the hole. I've never owned one with a tighter fit (like tap handles, etc) but an easy fix is a couple thick rubber flat washers or panel grommets (or o-rings...but shorter lived) on one or both ends if you have trouble keeping the bar in there or want to store it that way.

I used this item to enlarge headstock holes for tuners on a budget guitar - to make them the "standard" size and use new tuners. Takes a bit of elbow grease (which isn't a bad thing, as you don't want to overdo it). Remember to go from both the front and the back to get a more even hole!Worked perfectly, new tuners fitted. Item itself is nice and sharp and seems to be very sturdy.
