About this item

  • The SX can rotate 360° which allows orientation to achieve a smaller profile and maximum protection. The unique through bolt design can be tightened independent of the valve body, allowing for a simple installation that easily avoids obstructions.
  • The versatility of the SX-series valve allows installation without an adapter on some cars and trucks that may have previously required one.
  • The SX is proudly made by the same ISO-9001 certified factory that has been manufacturing Fumoto Oil Drain Valves for more than 35 years.

The new Fumoto SX-series is comprised of two distinct yet fully integrated parts: the through bolt and oil-flow control body. These features allow the valve to be positioned as you choose for even more convenient and effortless oil changes. The new ergonomic control lever makes the valves easier to operate and the versatility of the SX series allows installation without an adapter on some cars and trucks that may have previously required one. SX series valves are designed to fit cars, light trucks, vans and select commercial engines. All SX series valves offer a short 5mm nipple which allows you to attach a hose for convenient draining. Constructed of forged brass and stainless steel to exacting Japanese specifications, SX series valves are designed to provide a lifetime of dependable and reliable service.

I've been using the FUMOTO Oil Drain Valve for over 5 years on various car models, and it has been a game-changer for my oil changes. Instead of dealing with the hassle of replacing the oil pan washer and bolt every time (and always forgetting if I had one, having to go to a local auto parts store to get one, etc), this product offers a convenient solution. The installation is a one-time process, preferably during your next oil change when you're already removing and replacing the bolt and washer and reduces the total time to do an oil change to under 30 minutes or faster. Before purchasing, make sure to use the Fumoto Website to find which specific model will fit your car. In some instances, an adapter is needed, but the website tells you all of that information. I don't tend to trust the 'fits your car' from Amazon and always verify with the manufacturer directly. Another note on purchasing, I buy from the seller 'Fumoto USA' which is the official manufacturer. There are often other sellers, but I like to get direct from the manufacturer through Amazon instead of other resellers. It's not normally 'Prime' but I've usually had them ship same or next day, and receive a few days after in a small padded envelope, always in perfect condition. To ensure a secure installation, I recommend using a torque wrench and following the manufacturer's instructions. On many models, there is no actual 'washer' to install between this and the oil pain as it comes with rubber o-rings installed. Just make sure to completely clean off the oil-pan, make sure the old crush washer comes off, and its smooth / free of any dirt when you install this. Certain series (like this one) pivot and can swing around so you can position the drain port where you want which is a big plus. Once you start torquing it down, it will lock it in that position.Operating the valve is simple: just remove the provided clip and slide the lever to unlock it, allowing the oil to drain out effortlessly. It is a bit slower to drain, so I just leave the oil catcher there for 5-10 minutes and let it all drain out. If you're concerned about oil splashing, you can attach a small tube to direct the oil flow into your pan.For the safety / security minded - I've never encountered any issues with the valve opening on its own, thanks to the included locking clip provided. I can't see how anything could accidently open if it wasn't intentional. In my experience, this is one of the first upgrades I recommend for anyone interested in performing their own oil changes. It saves time, makes the process cleaner, and enhances overall convenience. Combining it with Rhino Ramps to avoid jacking up your car and using a quart bag around the oil filter when removing can result in completing an oil change in less than 30 minutes with minimal mess. I always like doing routine maintenance myself so you know it's done right and cheaper than a typical shop. Also pair it with a 'maintenance book' so you log the mileage and services you did. Normally I also rotate my tires every other oil change, and check all other fluids.Overall, the FUMOTO Oil Drain Valve has never let me down, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their oil change routine.

I put this in the oil pan of my 2012 JK Wrangler and it is awesome! Can drain the oil in minutes, with no mess! Refill, swap in a new filter and away you go! Awesome construction, fits like a charm and works great! Would order again and would recommend!

Installed on my 8th Gen (2008-2012) Honda Accord. It is well made, and great looking. Fit perfectly and installation was straightforward and easy. I can now change my oil without jacking the car up (if I don't need to change the filter) or spilling a single drop of oil. I don't need to wrestle with a drain bolt or replace crush washers-- I don't need any tools at all. It hasn't leaked or shown any sign of wear or damage in 5k miles. It rotates out of harms way for driving can be positioned however you need for easy access. You can attach a hose if you like but I don't find I need one. I did place a small end cap over the nipple just to keep things tidy. I don't think I could be any happier with it. It's just a small thing but the convenience it adds and time it saves is well worth the price. If you change your own oil or drive as a service, give yourself a little gift.

I had originally ordered the F106N for my 2012 Mazda MazdaSpeed3. Unfortunately, there's no way to install it because the drain plug is recessed around the drain pan. The realized Fumoto sold an adaptor that extends the F106N further out to you can install it. However, issue is now the drain valve sticks out too much and the MazdaSpeed3 has very low ground clearance. Then accidentally found this model, the F106SX which is comprised of two parts. The threaded bolt and the drain release handle housing. So basically, the drain release housing does not rotate while you tighten down the threaded bolt section just like normal drain plug through the drain release handle housing. That's it! Ingenious, solves two issues with this one product. Solves the precarious ground clearance issue as well as bypassing the extension to clear the recessed drain pain design.

Works very well, as advertised. I’m using this on a 2016 NCV3 4X4 Sprinter (3.0L V6) where the drain plug comes straight out the side. This SX series valve is very nice to be able to redirect the oil drain straight down. Just be sure to make sure you have plenty of ground clearance for your application to make sure you don’t risk knocking it on road debris or anything else.

I added this to make it easier and less messy to drain the oil on my diesel pickup. We travel and being able to do an oil change on the road without risk of a massive mess is a good thing. This works as intended. I bought the drain that allows you to mount at any angle so it's well protected by the oil pan. I also bought another security latch. No leaks from the mount or the sleeve o rings. My only negative is oil flow. I knew it would be slower so no surprise but I wonder if the drain is less effective because it doesn't flush as fast. I can always unscrew it like a drain plug if I want but thought the concern should be part of the review.

Installed on a Honda civic 2013 sedan. I was tired of getting my hands dirty (literally) with oil changes. No extension needed. Before and after pictures attached.I use one on my CRV and liked it that I put this on my wife's car now.

The Fumoto F106SX M14-1.5 Sx Series Drain Valve was purchased for a 2024 Telluride. The drain bolt fits in a small recessed area so wasn't sure the standard version of the fumoto valve would fit so I purchased this version made up of two parts. This fit great. The plastic shield that covers the area does rub just a bit, but nothing that interferes with the function of the valve.Anyone that does their own oil changes should make the small investment in a fumoto valve or something similar as it makes oil changes easy and faster.

I used Fumoto valves on my GM cars and it is good, but it seems too dangerous to use this valve on Honda Pilot V6 3.5L engine. Drain plug located at the lowest point, which is fine, but valve is L-shaped and it became the lowest protruding part after installation. So, any obstacle met can cause fatality - valve can be broken or open due to lever location. Tried to install and switched back to simple plug. On Honda 3.5L V6 engine valve should be long and strait, not the lowest protruding part.

The original F106N model doesn’t fit the 3rd gen 2016 Honda Pilot without an adapter because it’s one solid piece and the lever hits the oil pan when it’s tightened. The new F106SX fits without any adapter because it’s two parts that swivel, allowing you to hold the nozzle and lever away from the oil plan while the bolt is tightened.Pointing the nozzle straight down makes it lower than the oil pan and seems like it might increase the risk of damage over time. I pointed it diagonally towards the oil filter increasing clearance and making the mess radius smaller.Although the nozzle is short on the SX model, a 3/8” ID (1/2” OD) clear vinyl tube fits nice and snug without any extra adapter or clamp allowing to drain straight into a jug.Although this valve makes the oil draining easier, the messiest part of an oil change is removing the oil filter, so the cleanup is only slightly less. Still worth the upgrade for anyone that changes the oil on their own.Haven’t used it for draining the oil yet and can’t comment on the durability or any issues but will update this post later as needed.
