I put it on a Squire PJ and with just a touch of filing around the P pickup, it went on nicely and looks good. All the holes matched up perfectly.I’m not much of a fan for the pre-drilled holes in it for the thumb rest but that’s not a dealbreaker. It’s a custom build guitar so that doesn’t matter to me. I’ll remedy that with a couple extra screws. It’s a little pricey but looks better than the cheap off brand ones.Go on and Get you one!

Best looking tortoiseshell out there, the color and pattern is better than any aftermarket one I've seen. Has the holes for mounting covers and tugbar. I mounted it on an SX and it required a good amount of futzing to fit, but that was expected.

Don’t get me wrong this is a fine pickguard. No issues with the overall quality, but there’s a few issues I had with it, especially for $60. I got this for my 1991 Fender MIJ ‘62 Reissue Precision Bass. Most of the holes didn’t line up, which was expected. No issues there for me, but if you have a MIJ Fender, you may have to do some work to get everything screwed down properly. My main issues with this guard are the product photos and the thumb test holes. From the photo I was expecting a deeper red tortoise pattern, but it is more of the darker brown kind you can see on a lot of modern Fenders and cheaper aftermarket guards. The thumbrest holes are also narrower than the holes on the actual thumbrest Fender currently sells. I had to enlarge one of the holes on the guard to get enough clearance for the second screw. Both parts are made in USA by Fender, so this seems like a bit of an oversight in their part. For nearly $60 it’d be nice to get a more accurate wide bevel red tortoise 60’s style guard with thumbrest holes that actually line up. You can probably get something that’s nearly identical for a third of the price.

I received the pickguard in a timely manner, it was intact, and looks fantastic on the customized fender bass I was working on. It really came out how I wanted it!

This tort PG is a real winner. It really transformed my Sunburst pbass. Now it has a vintage look that turns a lot of heads. I will say that I could only give it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons:1) I had to do a significant amount of filing around the holes for the pickup to get the PG to fit without rubbing up against it and altering the pickup height. I have replaced many pickguards and never had to do this before. Maybe is is a function of the fact that this is a four ply PG instead of the three ply PGs I have used in the past. It is a bit on the thick side- good for durability, bad for ease of installation.2) the screw hole on the treble side that is in the "waist-hump" did not match with my pbass and seems like it is in an iffy spot. The original PG on my pbass (a new 2011 Fender '70s Pbass MIJ) had that hole in a much better spot as far as allowing the PG to make good contact with the body is concerned. It is a small quibble, but IMO kept this from being a 5 star item. All around, a great PG. You will happy with it, I'm sure. I play this Pbass (RW Neck, SB body, Tort PG, Ashtrays, Chromes) whenever I have a fancy gig that I have to get dressed up for. It never fails to turn heads and the PG is a gig part of that.

Not quite like the originals from the '60s, but are fine for reissue Fender Precision Basses, or standard Player Precisions that you want to give a classic look.

Bought one of these basses second or third hand and a previous owner swapped the original tortoise shell for white so I bought one of these to rectify his mistake.
