Replaced my leaking factory third eye and installed this. The LED white is VERY bright and lights up the bed very well. The red is as it should be. Solidly built and it felt solid out of the box. Nice piece.

Much, much cheaper than a new stock light, at least for my 2000 f150! Easy to install, plug and play. Good looking light and very bright, lights up the whole bed no problem, good for hooking up trailers at night too!!!

Very well made and far superior to the original. The only issue is no directions were included. The only thing in the box was the product . A sheet of paper with guidance or link to instructions online would have been helpful. Glad I scanned these comments first that mentioned pulling done the headliner inside the truck. That took a bit of time, removing the trim, including shoulder belt, and dome light, coat hangers, and 2 plugs securing the headliner to the roof. Once the headliner was loose, accessing the wire and connector above the liner was done easier standing on the truck bed and going through the sliding rear window. Disconnect the original plug and remove the original weather tight grommet the wires pass thru to the exterior third light. Then pull the wire and plug removing them thru the hole. From the exterior, standing on the truck bed, insert the new plug thru the hole, under the liner and connect its plug. Insert the new grommet holding the wires into the hole. Remove the center of the new light’s black gasket and discard. You’ll pass the new light with its wires thru the gasket. Then align the thin gasket to the back of the light, taking care in aligning it correctly before removing paper from adhesive.Remove the center from the small black ‘dots’, they are rubber washers to insert the original screws thru that create a tighter weather seal. Test the light before securing it. The white cargo lights turn on when you open the doors. The red center light is the brake light. Secure the light with the 2 original screws (taken from the original light) adding the new rubber washers. Replace the headliner.

This fit in my 97 f150 but you have to remove some panels and part of the headliner to get to the wiring harness. It comes with a gasket but on my model there was a small gap on the left and right side. I used the excess gasket to create my own side gaskets and then flex sealed around the entire piece. It looks a lot better and is definitely bright but the gasket they provide could use some work.

OK, first I'm not mechanically gifted. I have a 1998 base F-150 with 268k miles and I'm just trying to keep it running. I bought all the lights at a yard sale because somebody busted my tail light and drove off. Long story short, my existing wiring harness had turned to mush. It was cheaper to buy this LED replacement. What nobody mentioned is that you need to disconnect the old harness and reconnect the new harness under the head liner. Not a big deal, you just need to remove a few items depending on your cab style.I have the base cab, so removing the clothes hooks and dome light, then just pull out the top of the trim above the shoulder belts and you've got space to do it.The connector itself is fastened to the body with two plastic clips. I found it easier to use a flat head to pop it loose. I have big hands. If you break the clip, who cares. with the clip free I was able to use the same flat head to separate the old harness. Be careful that you know which part is which. The old harness is on the drivers side and is very small compared to the passenger's side plug. Now pull the old cable out. Fish the new cable in, plugging the round weather seal into the plug hole. My old one had dissolved so I had to remove it in pieces.Plug the new harness plug into the truck and check to make sure the unit works and there's no problems. At this point I discovered I had cargo lights! I'd never seen those work before. :PNow, just button it all up. Clean the area behind where the lens goes. Attach the included rubber seal on the back of the lens. I found it easier to fit into place, and then pull off the paper a little at a time. Then position the lens in place, insert the screws, and voila, that part is done. Now undo everything you did in the cab! Put the head liner back, the hooks, the dome light and the trim.Lastly, be careful, the dome light bulb is incredibly hot!!!! I cannot stress this enough, it will melt your fingers. Use gloves regardless, oil from your hands can cause it to burn out.

I had to replace my rear glass and noticed my old connector had degraded into mush. I read worried about finding a new connector cable and then found this integrated unit. I love this unit with LEDS built in. Best product I ever bought for my old truck.

Great Light! It upgraded the look of my Jeep Cherokee without breaking the bank! Was very easy to install with both lights completed in less than 30 minutes, without rushing too much!
