It quickly breaks up any lumps in the flour and aerates it at the same time to give you lighter, more consistent, clump-free results. Made of durable stainless steel with a fine mesh screen, this sifter is the perfect size to sift larger amounts. Easy to use: simply turn the crank handle to deploy the sifter inside. A must-have for making genoise, angel food cake, or sponge!

I did research on various 3 to 4 cup sifters, read many, many reviews on multiple sifters. When I came across this sifter, I was impressed by the reviews, were people talked about the rust resistance and quality of this sifter. I personally liked the fact that a number of reviews talked about the fact that when sifting, the blades were scraping along the sifting screen (this can make it a little harder to turn). By there being no space, that should get rid of any lump in your flour or powdered sugar when sifting. Unlike some other brands that talked about there being no contact with this screen, which could mean lumps left behind. For me, I believe that I made the right choice in purchasing this brand of sifters.

This sifter holds a good amount, is easy to use, cleans up well and I don't cramp up my hand with a squeeze handle. It looks and feels sturdy, but I've only used it a couple of times, so I can't swear to it's longevity.

its get the job done. 4 rail agitator making solid contact with mesh(perhaps a juusstt a lil too solid). seems sturdy. the right size for most of my recipes. it kinda funnels the flour out the narrower bottom side. i suppose i gave it 4 stars cause of the agitator design. ive seen (though i havent used)OXO's sifter with its agitator built to take advantage of the side to side shake motion i use for 95% of the sifting process. the crank design doesnt seem very efficient. maybe OXO's doesnt work well, i dunno, but i wanna try it out.

This Fox Run 4 cup sifter is a very nice, small size sifter. For the low price of $10.57, when purchased, I was surprise at how well made it is. The opening at the top is 4 1/2" wide, it is 6 1/2" high, which includes a 1/2" high extension at the bottom. This extension curves inwards, reducing the opening to 2 3/4" wide, and funnels the sifted flour coming out. The extension doesn't show in the angle the product photo was taken. The sifter has double wire hoops attached to a shaft/crank handle (with a nice turned wooden knob). This shaft is about 5/32" thick, the hoop wires are right under 1/8" thick; all four hoop wire edges make contact with the fine mesh sifter screen. These double hoops are also centered on the shaft inside the sifter. This sifter makes fast work of sifting flour. You have to tap it a little when the sifter is almost empty, to get the last bit sifted, but that is the same as any sifter I've used.I haven't had this Fox Run long enough to know how well the stainless steel will hold up against rusting, but it seems like a nice quality. I am very happy with this purchase.

I love this sifter because it is so easy to use. The crank motion is much easier on your wrist than those cheap sifters that require you to pull repeatedly on a spring handle. Also, the crank motion makes the product sift faster because the inner bales are constantly moving the product over the bottom screen. The other great feature is it's rust resistance. The only limitation on this sifter is it's size. For my small household, it is perfect, but if you have to sift large quantities of product, you may want to order a larger sifter. Regardless, I would recommend any sifter in the Fox Run line. This one is very well made.

The wire inside the sifter was defective. It doesn’t work smoothly. Had I examined it before buying I would not have purchased this item. I am deeply disappointed.

They don't make 'em like they used to! This gadget is functional, practical and never out of style. The flour comes out easily and washes well with no residual funky stuff hiding in the corners!

The 8 cup fox run flour sifter is probably fine for sifting flour, but worthless for roasting coffee. I've been using flour sifters for stove top roasting for more than 3 years and normally buy two or three sifters each year. The fox run sifter is different from every other I've bought in that it has a flat bottom--no elongated, narrower extension. Fox Run is on the right in the pic and my old sifter is left. That flat bottom puts the fox run screen only 7/8 in. above the flame. The old sifter is 1 5/8 above the flame. I thought it still might be okay by just lowering the heat on my gas range. But additionally, I cannot configure the beaters so that they rotate the beans. Beans get stuck at the screen rim making it impossible to turn. I always elongate the holes on sifters where the crank rod goes thru using a rotary file and then secure a metal strap to raise the beaters off the screen and get a bit more life out of the mesh. I've done this with every sifter and never had a problem before, but this one just will not work with coffee beans. Very disappointed with the purchase, but it is a flour sifter, not a coffee roaster, so.......can't really fault it for its proper use.

Super quality. Holds a reasonable volume/weight. With its 4 spokes, it turns through flour quickly. May have to “help†a bit with a spoon at the end of using cocoa powder. Sifts icing sugar like butter but I have not tried other sugars ( white, brown, maple, coconut…).Highly recommended
