Froglube Paste is a cutting edge Bio-Based lubricant made from "USDA Certified Food-Grade". All ingredients are produced in the USA using a proprietary formula. It is a non-toxic substance that dissolves carbon on contact. It has a heavy specific gravity, which enables it to 'season' the metal through absorption deep into the pores. Using FROGLUBE results in a durable dry slick wax-like surface that reduces friction, eliminates fouling, and destroys rust. FROGLUBE is safe for plastic, urethane, nylon, and wood. FROGLUBEwill give your weapon many extended years of service. Froglube will not harm the environment. It can be disposed of without the need for prohibitive HAZMAT controls. Employees will be protected from the affects of working in and around toxic chemicals. Froglube is a bio-based lubricant, cleaner and protectant. Froglube contains no petrolium or water, non hazardous in every way and has a pleasant mint smell. 4 oz. jar.

I have used this lube on a number of firearms and love the ease of cleaning. Initially removing the petroleum based llube can be a task however, well worth it. Aside from that you don't have to deal with an oily/chemical smell. After firearm cleaning is awesone and super simple. The key in application is heat and can be as simple as a hair dryer. It is a little bit spendier than grabbing some mobile 1 and other lubes but a tub of paste lasts a LONG TIME. There are a number of posts/owners experiences with reduced wear findings that are again a plus. The reduced wear a BIG PLUS for me personally. Though there are known issues with cold weather performance as reverts to paste form when cold. I recommend giving it a try LESS IS MORE

A friend introduced this product to me at the same time as the flexible viper boresnake. He was an enthusiastic convert, and convinced me to give froglube a try. Well, I couldn't be happier with this product. It seems to do just what it says it will do. I disassembled, heated the metal parts (briefly, in a toaster over), and the froglube melted and spread over the parts like warm butter. After letting it sit a while, I wiped it off. The minty smell is a plus, no chemical odor. And I didn't worry about getting any on my skin, as it is made from organic materials.Anyway, the next day I put twenty rounds through the gun, a Browning 9mm, and after the first magazine, I noticed a shiny film on the parts of the gun which had become hot. The froglube was melting with the heat, providing lubrication, and if the documentation is correct, providing a film which will keep carbon deposits from adhering to the receiver and inside of the barrel. Cleaning the gun after use (with the new boresnake) was a piece of cake, the inside of the barrel seemed spotless after just three passes. This time around I didn't heat the metal parts, but let the lube sit for several minutes and gave the parts just a minimal wipe-off; I wanted to leave some protection as I didn't anticipate using the gun for a while. One by one, I have been field stripping, cleaning and froglubing all my pistols. I will start on the long guns soon. The froglube seems to be pretty economical--a little goes a long way. All in all, I like the fact that it is organic, that it smells good, and that it liquefies with firing heat to aid in lubrication of the gun in use. This is a good product and I will continue to use it.

I use this on firearms and knives. Works great, no issues, keeps everything lubed and rust/corrosion free.

Everyone buys FrogLube and uses it like a grease lubricant, WRONG! It is a paste designed to melt over your firearm and harden then wiped off completely. Let me explain... First you need to heat your firearm. Don't be special, I use a heat gun on low, but I know how to not overheat my firearm. Make sure to remove any plastic components if you use a heat gun, or use a hair dryer. Same concept just not as powerful. Heat the metal components up to a warm temperature 110F-120F. Don't use an oven. you will damage your sights. Once the firearm is warm, take the green, wonderfully minty scented paste on the end of a paintbrush and spread it all over the gun. The paste will liquify and spread all over in the nooks and crannies of your frame and slide. Set the part aside and let the product cool. When it cools the liquid turns back into a paste. It dries to the powder residue on your firearm and separates it from the metal. Then wipe it all off. Wipe the firearm clean of the paste with a dry terrycloth towel. When you wipe you are removing excess lube and the dirt, powder, and brass shavings from every crevice, and as you wipe, the lube portion is left behind and rubbed into the metal surface and coating. This is all done with a clean, non-toxic minty smell, so your bags and range gear will not stink of petroleum and ammonia, and it can be done indoors, feet away from your significant other and it will not bother the senses like traditional Hoppe's does. If you learn how to use it and wipe all the excess away the end result is a clean and perfectly lubricated firearm which will be reliable and ready to use! You will never want to use anything else.

Starts off as a gel (where they get "paste" I will never know) and quickly liquefies as you work with it. It has a very interesting feel to it when you use it; it is not greasy or oily at all. Let's see how it stacks up as a CLP product.CLEANS:9 out of 10. This breaks up carbon pretty good on its own, but I still like solvents better for deep cleaning gunk. Especially the baked on stuff that can show up on the breach and inside the barrel. So I start with something a bit harsher and then finish up with the Frog Lube. In other areas I use the Frog Lube and it works just great.LUBES:10 out of 10. Nice, slick feel without the greasy residue that others can leave behind. The lubricating property of this is not an oil, soap or wax feel to it; it is not something I have experienced before. Definitely a lighter, cleaner feeling lube than anything else I have used.PROTECT:Based of of other reviews I have read on-line (Google CLP reviews), Frog Lube outperforms most others. For me, most notably - Strike Hold. And I must admit, the non-greasy aspect of this product comes through again. The problem with many others is that the greasy residues of other CLP products means that they are prone to attract dust. This does not happen with Frog Lube.Bottom line - I really like this. It is harsh to use at all and when you are all done with the cleaning, your hands actually feel pretty nice. Almost like you have been using a hand moisturizer. All in all, this is my new favorite CLP for my guns. Strike Hold is now being used more in my tool drawer and not my gun safe.

This stuff is great! Just make sure you follow the instructions. Leaves a nice protective layer. And it smells like mint so the wife doesn't hate it. Will be ordering again when my jar is empty.

I heard a lot of good comments about this cleaner from reviewers in the US and decided to give it a try. The product is absolutely faultless and I cannot find any problems with it. In this review I will describe the application procedure and cleaning procedure using the Froglube paste, the directions taken from the manufacturers website.FIRST APPLICATION- Strip your firearm down as you normally would for cleaning. Remove any lubricant, oil or grease from all the metal work using a relevant oil removal (I used mineral spirits for this).- Heat up the metal parts so that they are "hot to the touch." I did this using a hairdryer.- Apply the froglube paste to the surface of the metal work, the heat will cause the paste to liquify. When applying to the bore I put a big blob in the chamber and pushed it down with a patch on a cleaning rod jag.- Make sure you only treat the parts as specified by the firearm manufacturer. For example, the manual for my Tikka T3 specifically states that the entire firing pin assembly within the bolt is to remain dry and does not require lubrication or oiling.- Allow the metal work to cool then wipe away the excess with a towel or shop rag, the excess froglube should have solidified into a wax again. You have now completed the first application.CLEANING- Strip your firearm down as you normally would for cleaning.- For the barrel, rub a patch into the froglube then send it down the barrel on a cleaning rod jag.- Scrub with barrel with either a bronze phosphorous brush or a nylon brush (manufacturer doesn't state which kind of brush, just says "scrub barrel." I performed ten passes starting from the receiver end.- Send patches down until they come out clean.SUMMARYAs a comparison, this weekend I had taken some rifles out, two of the four had not been treated with froglube. Here we have:- Yugo M48, 8mm Mauser (160 rounds fired), pre-treated with froglube- CZ 527, .223 rem (200 rounds fired), pre-treated with froglube- Lee Enfield No4 Mk1, .303 British (- Marlin 1894, .357 magnum (50 rounds fired), NO froglubeI immediately cleaned them after coming home. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. The two rifles which had been treated with froglube cycled very well. The CZ 527 used to be quite clunky on the bolt, but now it was as smooth as glass, it felt like brand new. After cleaning, I was very impressed with the results. Following the cleaning procedure above I had used less than 5 patches before they were clean. The first patch from each rifle was absolutely caked in carbon, this shows that the froglube and scrubbing removes a lot of the fouling which is picked up by the first patch. The two untreated rifles, despite a lower round count, took the best part of 10 patches using the same cleaning procedure. Although the froglube as a standalone cleaner gave similar results to conventional cleaners, this highlights how well the pre-treatment aids in future cleaning. As I understand the pre-treatment stops the carbon from "caking" onto the metal. The froglube acts as a film which makes it easier to remove during cleaning. All rifles ended up with a mirror shine bore.CONCLUSIONI think the froglube has worked amazingly well, and is certainly much easier to use than traditional oiling and chemicals. I find that the pre-treatment has definitely made subsequent cleaning much easier and I much prefer the smell of this product than the harsh chemicals I would normally use. This product is 98% edible as approved by the FDA. I imagine it would not damage any finish of your rifles and would not cause any harm to the stock, if wiped away after cleaning. So far I've coated 4 rifles, cleaned 5 and I've not even got through one tenth of the tub. I'm finding it hard find criticisms, at first I thought it was quite expensive for the quantity, but after the resutls I've got I'd say it's more than worth it's cost.
