When my Whirlpool Refrigerator model gb2shtxts01 stopped cooling, I was able to use this part instead of purchasing a whole new refrigerator. It lasted about 5 years before I had to buy another one, but that is a small price to pay for a quick and easy fix.The small box arrived with 2 small fuses, the start relay, and the run capacitor. I connected the relay to the capacitor and it was ready to be installed; there was no need for the 2 fuses.With the help of a how-to web video, it took me about 30 minutes to disconnect the power, move the fridge, remove the back panel, remove old part, and to install this new one. The hardest part is removing the old piece as it is snug in its housing and the area is somewhat compact and low to the ground.I highly recommend this start relay run capacitor as an easy fix to a working but not cooling refrigerator!

Although my part number did not fully match to the last few digits, this substitute has been working two weeks with no startup or run issues. The red lug adaptors were not needed in my case. The capacitor was physically bigger than the original. Even so, it fit fine. The cap value matched the original. Install with confidence if you want to keep your old fridge.

I have a fridge in the garage that just gave out one day. Looked all over the internet to see a possible solution and couldn’t find anything. My neighbor told me it could be the capacitor and we troubleshooted but no luck. Then, I came across this post on Reddit and they said it could be the compressor starter. I purchased this and my fridge began to work again! Saved me $$$$$ from hiring someone to come take a look at it and over-charge.

Slightly different size and shape from the OEM part, but it fit, and now the compressor stays on. I’m so happy

The price can’t be beat. Look at the cost of the OEM version!The installation took about as much time as it took to pull the fridge/freezer out and put it back.I watched a YouTube vid. 1/4†nut driver to remove back cover.Pull off the cable harness. Remove the clip. Remove the old one. Plug in the new one and reverse steps.I had to “reengineer†the original clip to get it to work because the dimensions of the replacement were slightly different than the original.The only thing I failed to do that the video mentioned was I forgot to wear work gloves.I did end up bleeding a bit…
