I couldn't tell from other reviewer photos if the splitter edge was fine enough to push through a VERY small split ring, like the one on this Rapala floater size 03. What a breeze. The edge is sharp, hardened and opened this tiny split ring in about 5 seconds from the time I picked up the instrument. Took me about 2-3 minutes before with a larger split ring plier where I damaged more than one split ring by overstretching. Right tool for the right job! Extremely nice quality, high precision tool. Had to have it in hand to know.

These are very useful when it comes to the smallest splitrings. Very well make. Ridged pliers won’t flex out if you use them correctly.These also have a leader cutter hole just above the grip. It should shear some substantial leader material.There is a serrated cutter that works very well. Very precise pliers on the tip.Good close latchAND a Lanyard hole in the handle.Worth every penny âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸

These work great for my son. He loves to fish and these are the perfect size for his hands. Some of the other brands were too big. He gets a lot of use out of them.

So many choices on the market but I always go with Gamakatsu for their hooks and now splint ring pliers. These pliers are nice and compact good grip and quality ideal for on the go fishing, the ease of use for adding or removing split rings on the fly. Highly recommend good value.
