This fits my 2005 GMC Canyon, but the tether doesn't fit the hole in the fuel panel. This has a better seal than the old cap and the tether isn't necessary since the fuel panel has a lid holder. I got this replacement because my check engine light started coming on for no apparent reason, and that usually means the gas cap isn't sealing properly. I would have given it 5 stars if the tether had fit.

This gas cap gets stuck on car that it mentions being made for. I have had multiple occasions where I could not physically get the gap cap off because it was too hard to turn. I am in my twenties and don’t have physical difficulties and I have had to ask someone for help because I was low on gas at a gas station and couldn’t physically remove it from car. Not only that but it’s incredibly embarrassing to ask someone for help opening your gas cap…It makes me feel less safe because now I don’t know whether or not I’ll be able to get the gas cap off to get gas.

The gas cap doesn’t work. Bought to replace a cap for my 07 car and it didn’t seal. Poorly constructed copy of an original GM product.Save your money and buy a better one.
