First, know that there are two sizes for the Square D Homeline service panel. Measure the blank space between the bottom of the main breaker and the top of the first breaker below it (reverse if your main breaker is on the bottom of the panel). Mine was right at 3/4" (0.75 inches). This interlock is heavy anodized aluminum, approx 1/8" (0.125 inches) it shouldn't rust or oxidize in a humid space. Many of the interlock kits are made of stamped sheet metal and cost twice as much. Installation instructions were simple and you only need a screwdriver, a drill, a sharpie marker and a small file or sandpaper. I may have used a pair of pliers, but don't recall. Most homes should have these basic tools anyway. The toughest part of the job was running 45 feet of 10 gauge cable in the basement!

This product was much more reasonably priced than many competitors and better made. Fit my Square D 100amp panel perfectly and was a snap to install with well written instructions. Even came with the drill bit needed for installation. I chose the anodized blue for a little electric panel bling!

Well made from solid plate. Easy to install — includes the right sized drill bit (3/16â€). I would call it fool proof, but I’ve met some fools that would be baffled by it’s simplicity.

I'm an electrician. I installed this on a Square D QO type 100 amp panel. Tight fit but works perfectly.
