It can be used as a clip-on fan or as a table-top fan. To use as a table-top fan, simply loosen the butterfly screw on the fan head, then attach the base to the fan head ad tighten the butterfly screw. To use as a clip-on fan, loosen the butterfly screw on the fan head, then attach the clip to the fan head ad tighten the butterfly screw. The clip can accommodate a 1.06 inch to 1.65 inch thick structure. The fan has two quiet energy efficient speeds. The fan head can be adjusted to all angles making it so much more convenient to use. This fan has been ETL listed and employs overload safety protection with a fuse in the built-in power plug.

These fans have so many ways you can attach it and move it to blow where you want it while clipped to a bed, I didn't need it for the stand so I don't know about it but those clips are sturdy and the fans work great and put out alot of air for as little as they are. They are very quiet even though I like fans that make noise, I'm a noisy fan person, been sleeping with fans for years, like a sleeping pill or a rainy day...anyway, these fans are great and a great price. I got two for our loft beds, and I'm happy with them and still working so hopefully they last and I need not look further for fans that can clip onto bunk beds or loft beds.

Update 9/6/22 - This little Genasis clip fan is still going strong over a year later. We're having a heatwave right now in Northern California with temperatures reaching 116° Today, 114 yesterday and projected to be over 110° the next couple days still. My 16 year old senior pug that can't walk has been struggling with the heat. I've been using one of those mini usb portable desktop AC's that use water and ice but this heat has been too much, the air blowing is nowhere near cold and hardly strong enough to make a difference so I took the clip fan from my computer and clipped it to the foot part of the recliner and it's working for him great providing much needed air. It's been hitting over 100° as early as 10 am here so this is perfect for him to sleep and stay cool. I'm so glad I had this on hand and I will probably be ordering another to keep as a backup. I just wanted to update my review to speak on the longevity of this fan and show how helpful it can be.This little clip on genesis fan is amazing. I got a new smaller desk that sits by a window so the California sun is beaming in on me even with a curtain I can feel the heat. I needed something small and compact because there is no room on this desk, my computer barely fits. I found this clip fan and it looked perfect. I didn't expect too much from a $16 clip fan but man, this little thing might be better than the oscillating stand fan I have in my room. The air blowing is nice and cool plus plenty of power. I can feel it even standing about 8 feet away. Also a benefit, it came with the stand and clip so it's versatile if you decide you don't want it clipped anymore. I might have to get one to put in the kitchen so when I'm cooking in the summer I have air. It's very sturdy clip too. 10/10, couldn't have asked for more

It's a decent enough fan - it lives up to what was being sold. But there's nothing particularly remarkable about it, either. Clip-on fan, one each.But eh, for the price, one can't complain too much about it. It works, it's quiet as advertised and it's made from decent enough materials. A so-so fan at a decent price.

After reading the reviews I was not sure about this purchase - it's love them or hate them pretty much. But that is about what I found for every six inch fan listed that is close to this price point so I picked this one to gamble on and it works real well for my purpose.I use it in a 5x8 grow tent to move the air around a bit. I have two right now but ideally a third or even fourth would be best - and I am running my fans on the low speed. Too much air movement is not a plus. The goal is to simulate a breeze not blow massive amounts of air. And it should not be 24/7 either. I have them on a timer to run a a few cycles per hour and not at all when the lights are out at night. If you need to move a lot of air, it's best to do that with a high quality exhaust fan versus blowing it directly on your plants. Not good.That said, it is very decent well made fan. Easy to assemble and the clip works well. Now I have a custom wood frame enclosure I designed myself so it clamps to the 2x4 and 1x4 wood with no problems. If you are a grower who decided to buy an overpriced tent made from tubing, it's likely this would not stay put and move or slide out of position after some time. But if you have a means of keeping it secure and just want to move some air as I suggested, you will not be disappointed.I can definitely recommend it for how I described using it and will be buying more. IMO it would work equally fine as a personal cooling fan to use on your desk at work or home office. It is very quiet and moves a good amount of air to help cool ones self a tad.And no, this is not a fake review as one unsatisfied customer suggested. It sounds like they may have just gotten a bad fan or the quality of the fans is hit and miss - that does happen with stuff made "elsewhere". I don't know for sure but the one I got works fine and I have no problem recommending it to other buyers. If it does not move air, send it back....easy peasy.AE

Works exactly how it’s supposed to. It can clip onto things or comes with a stand. Surprisingly this little thing is super strong and puts off a good amount of cool air. Granted we do have it clipped to our bed frame pointed directly at us.
