I don't normally do reviews unless I find something that's really bad or really good. This one is REALLY GOOD!I bought this to replace a valve in a 14-yr-old Frigidaire Pro Series side by side refrigerator. I looked over the half-dozen or so valves on Amazon and chose this one because it was middle-priced and had only a handful of negative reviews. But I was still apprehensive as the negative reviews mentioned a non-genuine part and leaking connectors. I'm happy to say that my experience was all positive. The item came in an Electrolux box with the Frigidaire logo (as well as others) on it and looks identical to the one it is replacing, so it appears to be a genuine OEM part. One of my concerns was that I would replace the valve only to find it is not the problem at all, or that maybe the replacement was a dud, and I would have no way of knowing which. I was pleased to see that the box included a detailed diagnostic sheet with a thorough step-by step procedure for determining if the existing valve is indeed faulty and needs replacing. As a side benefit, the procedures gave me a thorough understanding of exactly how the refrigerator water system works. I followed the procedure and, sure enough, the old valve was bad.Installation was a snap. No special tools needed and the electrical and water connections are all color-coded. Unlike with other reviewers, my old valve already had the push-in connectors, so I did not even need to trim the tubes. They inserted smoothly and snuggly into the new connectors. I reconnected the water supply and tested all of the functions and they worked perfectly. And there are absolutely NO LEAKS anywhere.Maybe some of the negative reviewers got production lemons or didn't install correctly, but mine works like a charm. Next hurdle will be the test of time as some reviewers reported theirs stopped working after only a few weeks. But for now, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I would recommend this one to anyone.

Money well spent because it saved a service call which probably would have cost over $200. Works perfectly. Probably one of the easiest appliance repairs you can make on your own. It's easy because if you can get to the back of the refrigerator you will see the valve module before picking up a single tool. Here's an important tip.Watch a YouTube video and every one will suggest taking photos of the electrical and hose connections before proceeding. This is correct but photos are not good enough. When the tubes are still connected to the old module it will be difficult to take a photo of all the connections. If you remove 2 of the easier to reach tubes you can immediately connect them to the new module prior to installing it. For the remaining 2 tubes I studied my photos over and over and could not decide which of those 2 tubes when into which port. I got it right but I could have gotten it backwards. Here's the tip that I wish I had thought of. Using a magic marker on the old valve module, put a number or letter on each of the 4 blue barrels and their corresponding tubes. Then write the same numbers or letters on the new solenoid barrels. The rest should be obvious.Have fun.

It appeared the solenoid in the valve unit quit working because I was not getting water to the upper ice unit in the freezer. The water in the door was working so I knew I had water from the main line and working through the water filter located in main part of the fridge. I wrote down the serial number and model number of the fridge so I was sure to order the correct part. Once I found the valve on-line I cross referenced the numbers once again to ensure the correct part was ordered. The part arrived quickly (even without paying extra for the quicker shipping). The fridge was rolled out and the bottom access panel removed (a few screws). The valve assembly was attached to the bottom of the fridge via two screws which were removed quickly. The new valve had the quick connect fittings (as did the old valve) so it took just minutes to disconnect the old valve (by depressing the attach points and pulling the hoses out) and replacing with the new valve (merely pushing the lines into the attach points). While I had the access panel off I cleaned the lower parts of the fridge (coils, etc.) of all dust and debris. All in all, the total time to replace the unit including putting everything back together was approx. 15 minutes. The valve works as intended and the icemaker is working as good as or better than the original.

My fridge stopped dispensing water randomly. Watched a couple of YouTube videos and discovered the water inlet valve could be the culprit. Figured I’d try replacing it before calling a repair person. This was the easiest DIY project and my fridge is dispensing water again!

This replacement works well and was easy to install. The only issues is that it's mechanically louder than the original. A very audible sound can be heard when the ice maker is refilling. It may be getting a bit less with usage....or I'm getting used to it.
