I was impressed with the quality of the construction and materials used in this weather vane and how striking it looks on my wife's studio. This does require that you purchase a separate bracket to mount it on. I went with a wall type bracket in lieu of a roof bracket. I am looking forward to how the copper patina will make this look as it ages. Very easy to assemble and comes in a package with lots of protection to prevent damage. Would recommend this weather vane.

UPDATED REVIEW. PLUS FYI!I returned the item below but I reorded it in hopes of getting a better one without flaws... The new one arrived quickly and is definitely much nicer.... Very happy with it!But I was surprised that Amazon had me "sign" for it?? The delivery person said it's because of my "settings" so I checked, Nope!! Nothing there ...So I called customer service, I was told that some orders will require a signature,,, BUT, couldn't tell me "how I'll know if I have to sign" at time of placing my order....In my understanding, the item will NOT BE LEFT if I don't sign... Often I'm not home and was not aware of this "signing" issue..... Lucky I was home because this is a gift for in a few days...Just thought it's something others should be aware of.. I'm sure it has to do with people saying they didn't receive their order, but for me, not knowing what needs to be signed for is an issue.....The customer service rep was very nice,,, but of no help with this issue..She suggested an Amazon "locker/box????? But I don't drive...I'm 79, this is really quite a problem because I have no idea if I'll need to sign for any orders I place .But,,, the weather vane is excellent.Huge difference from the first one....I actually haven't opened the entire package..... It's a Christmas gift and returnable in January... But there are cracks in the weld where the beak is attached plus I see it's already starting to tarnish, not sure how that can be????I think someone else may have mentioned the "welds"... they don't look great,,, compared to the copper... They look kinda rough.... They do seem sturdy but if this was going in a garden (I got the garden stand) the welds would be pretty obvious..... I'm hopeful when it ages a bit the welds will be ok???It's a Christmas gift for my daughter so I'm not sure where she'll use it... Inside. A roof, patio post in the garden..It's beautiful really, but the welds really do take away from it..It's a nice size, that makes it very versatile......It seems too that the company doesn't respond to questions very well so I'm going to give this some more thought ..Just a tad disappointed in the workmanship of the welds..Just me, others, or my daughter may not even care..I will see about returning it because of the cracks in the weld where the beak is attached to the flower..Very disappointing actually..I thought too it was American made,,, an "American company" that outsources to India.

I didn't want to buy something cheap, and we have a hummingbird theme at our house. The weathervane is beautiful and well made. The hummingbird at the top is a real conversation piece.

Arrived broken, weld from Hummer's beak to flower broken exposing very poor design and workmanship. The beak is 1/8" x 3/8" at weld. Though well packed with bubble wrap and paper still broke in shipping.Design should have been beak lengthened inside to other side of flower for an additional attachment location. Very poor design. Returned PRIME. IMO won't last long in weather exposure.

Pluses: It’s just the right size to sit over our garden arch and seems reasonably well made (India, I believe). Out of the box, the copper finish is brilliant. I wanted to install it as a surprise gift for our 50th wedding anniversary and rushed ahead without applying the absolutely imperative (after market) proterctive clear-coat to preserve the finish. My wife loved the weathervane at once. Then, within a week, it began to turn gray-green. I must say we live a few miles in from the sea coast. I went back on Amazon to order the after market clear coat. Removing the tarnish from the copper - just a week’s worth - was a three hour chore with scrubbing pads of various thicknesses. Tough, tough going. Now the clear coat is on and cured, and the “bird” is re-installed.
