While installing a curt hitch to my vehicle I accidentally dropped a bolt in the frame rail of my vehicle. Unfortunately the bolt fell off of the fish wire. After driving around for a week or two with the bolt in the frame rail and exploring my options I purchased this tool and successfully (and quite surprisingly) retrieved the bolt in the hole in the frame rail. The magnet was strong enough to pull the bolt back through the hole in the frame rail. To my amaze, this is a great tool and I am sure it will come in handy in the future for the other many bolts, screws, etc I drop while working on my vehicle.

Our car keys dropped down into a underground grate..We couldnt even see the keys yet we knew where they dropped.Although it took some time bending this tool in order for it to get a hold of our keys.. once it did...The tool didnt release the keys and we were able to bring them up to the surface.. and back into our hands.This product saved us a lot of grief and money-if we had to call out "someone" to open up the grate in order to retrieve the keys.Good buy and a critical tool to have when those once in a while ordeals occur.. and they certainly will.

The metal is very structurable and the magnet is durable if you need to bend it and hope that it stays in that position while bending your way through an engine bay this is the tool you want when losing a small bolt or screw. Reliable/ durable/ structural/ cheap and simple

I already had 2 other similar magnetic retrievers. This one is narrower, and fits in spaces the others don't, and you can pre-bend it to fit in specific places. I was able to retrieve lost nuts inside my car dash because of these features.

Long length magnetic pickup tool, versatile, magnet is so-so. Great for when you drop a fastener deep inside the cowling on the front of a vehicle. I have used these a few times now, I have had to come back and edit my initial review.The magnet is a bit on the weak side, it even drops small nuts, especially if you bump against a panel or something while retrieving it. However, I do like the flex shaft and handle, so what I have decided to do is alter the tool.I ordered a set of strong magnets that are of a similar size, and I plan to cut off the existing magnets and affix the replacements using JB weld or a similar bond.
