Your cart is empty.The nylon inserts for SUPERCRAFT soft-face mallets (series 3508) with their hardness of approx. 73 Shore are very hard. This white polyamide inserts offer outstanding impact qualities and are guaranteed to combine maximum strength with unique durability. They consist of extruded and extremely homogeneous material. Compared to injection moulded plastic inserts, they are therefore considerably more wear-resistant and durable and will never chip even in sub-zero temperatures. They stand up to the high impact forces produced by non-rebound soft-face mallets. What is more, they are oil and grease resistant and are also used on SUPERCRAFT sledge hammers, punches and drop-mallets. These inserts are available in sizes ranging from D10mm to D100mm.

I have this old deadblow mallet that was handed down by my late father. He’d spent his life as a machinist, and though he sold all his equipment before passing, he kept this. As a child, I remember playing around with it in his shop, and watching him smack around his Bridgeport. The only markings on it are K*G30 (the * is actually a squished 6-pointed star) and its vintage metallic grey paint job was all but chipped away. The handle is identical to Halder mallets and the main body of the head is 1.18â€.I wanted to put this mallet into my own rotation, but the heads were just too mangled, embedded with metal chips, and barely hanging on. So, I figured I’d give this “3508.030 Supercraft 1.18†head a try.It’s a perfect fit! The head itself feels incredibly solid, but still with a little give. I’ve beaten on it pretty hard already and it doesn’t show a lick of wear. If you look at my pic, you’ll see I only ordered one - that’s for two reasons. 1) they’re 1/3 the cost of just getting a new mallet, so I really couldn’t justify getting 2 and not just replacing the whole thing, and 2) leaving one of the original heads is a nice reminder of my father using this day in and day out. After a little bit of clean up, I happy to have this tool on my workbench.

The plastic replacement head fit my ferroplex hammer even though it didn't explicitly said so.Very happy.
