It’s a solid piece of metal. I let some YouTuber sell me on it because it makes it look like a Leica. I do like the metal cap that goes over the hood, probably one of the cooler camera accessories I own.

Fits my Sony A7CR 28 & 40mm lenses and is made of high quality aluminum. I have 2 and actually sanded off the black paint on one of them producing a really amazing Leica feel hood that really stands out.

I rarely give a review, but this lens hood puts an end to the notion that things made in China are subpar. This lens hood is made of aluminum and then anodized black. The fitting is perfect for the the Sony 40mm lens with a twist and snaps into alignment, staying square on the lens. Being an older Leica M user that has a similar plasticky square hood for their 35 Summicron, this hood is even better, and yet costing 4 times less than the Leica version. At $40, it is not cheap by any means, but the quality is first rate and you don't feel being gouged by the name brand.

so turns out all 49mm filter size Sony lenses USE THE SAME LENS HOOD MOUNT.So this even fits on the aps-c Sony 18-55mm kit lens for the a6000! (it vingettes a little bit at 18mm)very pretty lens hood, very leica-esque, could be a little tighter fit with the bayonet but no rattles eitherway

I can't figure out how and when it happened. But as you can see, the hood is not level. I checked the hood and found nothing. Nothing is broken. But when I install it on the lens, it is very crooked. Maybe there is a solution to fix this?

The hood is all metal, including the cap and fits on each other very snug, was worried it might just fall off in bag or while carrying but is very secure indeed.The hood also attaches very firmly with the lens which also is great. It takes a slightly extra force to twist it off compared to the OEMOnly downside is the use of filters if you're using a cpl or a variable ND as there's no access to adjust them.Very happy with the setup. 10/10

Not much bigger or heavier than the original Sony supplied hood but much more attractive in use . It fits and locks onto my 50 G lens perfectly . I plan to leave it on all the time so the fact that you cannot reverse the hood for storage is a non issue. As you cannot use the Sony pinch cap with this hood in place, it is good that the supplied Haoge cap is such a good fit and attractive in its own right.

I had gotten one for my 55mm Sony lens and was pleased with the product. There are not many photos so I wanted to post some good product photos. It does fit a filter under it on the lens directly.
