This is a great option for heating an existing hose. And cheaper to buy a new hose and this heat tape, rather than buying a combination hose and heat tape.

Already like it, I put it on to test and it really works. I wish this item came with a light indicator when turns ON so you're not guessing if its ON or OFF, but other than is great I just have to be checking on once in a while during the winter, there's no other option.

We live in Ohio and are first time duck owners so we purchased this to put in our outdoor house to help with freezing. It worked great at first but about a month later, I went out and turned the water on, picked the house up & it started sparking and then caught fire. Be very careful, unsure if this was a fluke or a flaw. It also made the house very stiff and difficult to operate.
