If you tighten the joints with a wrench, there is no leakage. There are three openings at the top. One to squirt grease. The second one to input grease. The third one with a loose screw and a nut with an O ring. I had to inspect it and decided I don't need it and I don’t know what it does. So I tightened the third opening's nut. Everything works fine, no leaks, and no need for teflon tape. The cartridge seems too big for the holder. I put it in but the last centimeter did not go in. It is just a tube of grease in a plastic sleeve. I took my knife and cut any plastic above the metal tube using the metal tube as a guide. Then, everything fits. It took an extra 3 minutes, and I had to sharpen the knife after that. Not difficult. The output nipple thing. Leave it loose, real loose, so it can be hand tightened. Hand tighten it. Snap it into the nipple. Pump grease. To remove, loosen with your hand a lot, like 3 turns. Pull off. It is not fast but for the price it is good. I am a homeowner and I just need to grease lawn equipment twice a year or something like that. Also, since there is no stop valve, if you leave the grease gun lying around, there is a spring that pushes against the grease tube creating pressure in the grease reservoir and there is a possibility that the grease will eventually come out. I don't know even if this is a problem. But to prevent it, I keep the pump in the closed position (with the trigger squeezed) when I put it away. In the closed position, the pump piston blocks the output tube from the pressurized grease reservoir. They give you a ring (like a key ring) to keep the handle closed and the pump arrives in this condition. I don't know if this paragraph is important. In conclusion, the pump works if you are handly with tools and have a few tools and understand the operating principles of the device. If you are a first-timer with grease guns, don't know how to carefully inspect a mechanical device, unwilling to cut with a knife to make things fit, it will not work for you.The price is great, so I don't mind a bit of work.

Worked awesome!! Zero issue!! Instructions aren't the best, but good enough to get it done. I will try to shed light on this.If the tube didn't fit into your grease gun that's because you put it in with the plastic lids on it. It has a plastic cap top and bottom of the tube. For cartridge**-Pull the plunger all the way back and let it lock fully cocked.- remove the plastic cap from the grease tube. ( You will want to remove the larger cap so that one end is still covered, one is not).-insert the grease tube into the grease gun with the OPEN END downward. You will leave the smaller of the two cap on the tube. The reason why, is because that plastic cap holds it into place. (You unscrew the HEAD END to put cartridge inside. That's the end where the grease comes out.)- with the cartridge inside the gun and one plastic cap still on (TOPSIDE) the other end with BIGGER cap is removed facing downward into the gun. Then remove the top plastic cap and let it slide into the gun.- Screw the HEAD END back on top the grease gun. Do not put it on tight or even close. One, two turns MAX!!! your intentionally leaving it loose to burp the air ...- after you screwed the head back into place. Depress the plunger rod FULLY!! You do that by pressing the little metal release under the plunger.- while the head is still only 1-2 turns on the gun and the plunger is depressed. Take the plunger by hand, some forced is required and push it all the way into the gun, then fully back out. What this is doing is getting the air out of the chamber (the reason we didn't thread it all the way in). Do this X4 times bruoing the air out of the chamber.- Now you tighten the head fully onto the grease gun. At this stage, no attachments are on the gun. All of the above was just to prime the grease into the gun.- squeeze the trigger with it all back together, everything is nice and tight (hand right) untill you pump the rest of the air out and grease steadying flowing. When the grease is coming out nice and even, the air is out and your are ready. Yes there's a air valve but that's not the same as this step.- attach whatever attachment you need and get r done! Leave the plunger depressed entirely after you got all the air out and are ready to grease those ball bearings. You no longer need to worry about the plunger until your out of grease, or if your running low and need to prime it but really only when your replacing the cartridge or filling it another way. The plunger is just to prime the gun.-wipe off fittings with paper towel between changes.- DO NOT lossen the coupling attachment! THE 4 little teeth are a bitch to get back inside. Ask me how I know that.. If it want release from the nipple, wiggle it and pull harder.I hope that helps

The grease gun arrived in apparent good condition. I loaded the grease and expelled air- ready to go. I prepared to install new boat trailer bearing protectors. Attached gun fitting to grease nipple. Injected grease and went to remove the gun fitting. It would not release. I spent more than an hour attempting to remove the fitting. Finally succeeded using vice grips, but in doing so i bent the housibg that held the nipple on the bearing protector, rendering it useless (brand new product). I assumed the problem was the bearing protection device. But to be sure, i attached the grease gun fitting to a grease nipple on my tractor. Forty five minutes later, i finally managed to detach the grease gun from the tractor. There is no question that the fault lies with the grease gun. Very poor quality control in the design of this unit. Not only is it defective, it ruined a new bearing protector. Buyer beware!

I have absolutely no idea what a Heavy Duty Grease Gun Kit is or why anyone needs one, but it was on my husband’s Christmas list, so here we are. The moment he unwrapped it, you’d think I’d handed him a treasure map. I don’t know what this thing does, but he’s thrilled. Apparently, this kit is the holy grail of grease guns. If you’re as clueless as me, just know it’ll make your husband ridiculously happy. Mission accomplished!
