About this item

  • [Size]: Work table size: 310*90mm(12.2*3.54in), X stroke (transverse) 200mm(7.87in), Y stroke (longitudinal) 50mm(1.97in); Height: 80mm(3.15in), Slot pitch: 34mm(1.35in)
  • [Material]: The workbench is composed of several adjustable dovetail aluminum alloys, which can ensure the smallest space and accuracy, and can be used in conjunction with bench drills.
  • [Structure]: The base and flexible workbench have a strong rigid structure, and the screw (M8X1.25) is very strong, which can be used for higher standards of use
  • [Handwheel with adjustable scale]: Zero adjustment handwheel rotates a circle of 1.25mm(0.049in) and a grid of 0.05mm(0.002in).
  • [Application]: It is suitable for mini electric drills and rig bracket series. It can also be applied to other suitable machines.

Used this on a drill press to mill a rectangular opening in a polycarbonate panel for an electronic device. Drilled holes in the panel to mark the corners of the opening and used those to get everything lined up for the cut. Like other reviewers have mentioned there is a lot of backlash and the calibrations are useless, but following a layout works fine. Worth the price.

It has a lot of play, but it was able to do what I bought it for. I just had to make smaller cut and it worked pretty good. It's not bad for smaller projects.

Generally, I knew what I'm buying so there were no surprises with the worktable. For milling worktable, there is too big backlash (more than 1 mm) while changing direction: the wheel is rotating but the table doesn't move. When the table begin to move, the precision is good enough for such cheap milling table. In the unit I've received the Y direction was perfect. Along the X direction there was slight transverse play that can't be adjusted. I suppose that the brass insert has wedge shape.Edit:After a less than a month of moderate using of the worktable with soft material the backlash in X direction has raised to 3 mm (2 full rotations of the wheel!). I almost didn't use the Y direction for milling, so the backlash in this direction remained acceptable (about 0.6 mm) for this price level. I decided to give an additional chance to the worktable and asked Amazon to replace it (didn't ask refund). The problem is that nothing decent can be found even for double price, good worktables cost more than 350$. The worktable has been purchased for rare home projects, so there was not a sense for me to spend so many bucks on it.Edit2:After receiving the replacement unit, I'm downgrading the rating of the worktable to 2 stars. The worktable arrived unadjusted (there was a substantial play in both directions) – and it COULDN'T BE ADJUSTED for the following reasons:1. The adjusting screws should be placed along the middle line of the dovetail's inserts – and they are higher (see picture and photo). The tables body is thick in these places and the screws were not lengthy enough for this thickness.2. The thread of all screws was destroyed near their heads, so they were not screwed all the way and some of them even didn't touch the dovetails inserts. I had to unscrew all screws to restore their thread, and it was not easy. A worker that has assembled the worktable was annoyed by a faulty thread and applied force, so the screws were stuck. I was afraid to destroy thread in very soft body's metal.3. Two nuts of the adjusting screws were thicker than other, and the short screws didn't touch the dovetail's inserts even after thread restorations (I've replaced them).Beside of that, the dovetails were not greased (in the replaced worktable there was a decent amount of grease), and washers and one nut of the clamps were missing. In the end, I've succeeded to eliminate the worktable play in both directions (it was complicated because of the wrong places of the adjustment screws) – otherwise I would give 1 star. Both directions have 0.15 mm backlash, it's not perfect but I can live with I (will see if it remains the same after using the worktable).Yes, I know that there is no decent worktable for this price – that's not justify however manufacturing of the worktable with serious defects.

Tried my hand at machining on a drill press with this as a cross slide. Just tried working on some soft metals and hard wood...nothing like stainless or hardened steel. So much flex in this thing there is no hope for any kind of accuracy. Perhaps if you stick to plastics? It's a cool device, fun to play with, but not a serious tool. I knew that when I bought it....just wanted to see what it could do. Will probably give to my grandson to play with in his toy shop. He likes it.

Used to make a milling machine. It works fine for what I needed. Just recessed some LED lights in pressure treated wood for the yard lighting. If you need to mill even soft metal it will be a challenge and need some mods

For simple jobs at home at this price point you'd be a mug to add one to your workshop. A bit like a swiss army knife, it's better to have one than not.

I have been a Tool and Die maker/CNC machinist for well over 35 years. This milling table is well worth the money, no question about that. As long as you know its capabilities. The only plastic parts are the way covers on the Y axis and the endcaps. Table is extruded aluminum. Slots are .550 wide at the bottom, .315 wide at the top, the depth is .350... These dimensions will allow you to make proper mild steel or PH 4140 T-slot's. Tap the T-slots 5/16 ( Fine thread or coarse thread is up to you ) Buy some 5/16.... S7 threaded rod and cut for different heights depending on work pieces you are wanting to mill.Their is backlash in the X & Y travel, no question about it. If you wanting any type of precision you must lay your work out properly and have a good eye. Hitting +/- .005 is not a problem. Don't expect more than that unless you really take your time to scribe everything out on your work with a height gage/caliper/transfer punch/etc.The Gibs/dovetail's are machined very well. Having said that, they are not flame hardened ways so again, know what you are buying this table for.The ways have BRASS SLIDER INSERTS for tightening the gibs on whichever axis you are not using while milling your work piece. ( This step is a must!!!!) NOT ONLY FOR SAFETY but better accuracy. The hold down clamps that come with the table are very good, the nut and bolt for clamping... not very good, hence the 5/16 threaded rod with proper T'slots. (Again, depending on the work you are doing. The base hold down slots are .340 wide for mounting to your drill press, length of the slots are 4.340 X 4.650 on the Y axisThe slot distance is 4.375 outside / with 3.690 inside ( So .340 width 4.340 length with approx 4.0" center line of slots. ( This will help you to know if it will mount to your drill press or if you need to modify it to mount securely to your drill press)I don't use the dial markings in X or Y axis due to the backlash, I lay out my work as set out above in this review. ( I recommend this for more precise work)I would not recommend milling anything other than Wood, Plastic, Teflon, or light passes .005-.015 on mild steel, brass, aluminum. Just go easy when beginning to engage the work with an endmill. ( NO TOOL STEELS such as A2, D2, H13 PH 4140 ETC ) Please keep in mind these are extruded aluminum ways without any flame hardening. So, again, Remember to tighten the way screws on the axis you are not milling on. This will keep your milling table in excellent shape for many years. The Maximum table travel in Y is 2.625" and the X is 7.5" This is more than enough travel when used on any bench top drill press.I hope this review helps those that are considering this table since this is the 1st review from this seller. I won't make any recommendation to what seller you purchase this from, however, I'm sure these types of tables are all made in the same place.
