This glass cutter is super easy and fun to use! I have been considering getting a glass bottle cutter for a long time and I am so glad I finally did. I watched many instructional videos on Amazon and YouTube showing how to use the cutter, and I feel like it was super easy to cut this bottle correctly after doing so. The most helpful tip I heard was to keep consistent pressure on the bottle and cut along the same line; in other words don't roll back and forth while scoring the glass or the break will be uneven. Another helpful reminder is that it might take multiple dips into the hot and cold water before the glass separates, but be patient and it will eventually come apart.

This product is very well made and has all the tools you need to be set up for success. I’m extremely satisfied that it has all the accessories you need to complete a project such as safety gloves and sanding paper. That alone saves you a trip to the hardware store. It also includes a handheld glass cutter that enables you to create more projects depending on your skill level.I don’t have a lot of experience with glass bottle cutting but the design of this cutter is very user friendly that I was able to figure it out. The board grips the table well and doesn’t move when you roll the bottle so it gives you a straight score line all around. The backstop is firm and sturdy. Very simple to use. Simply set up the backstop to hold the bottle in place, apply even pressure and rotate to make a light score line around the bottle. After that, it is up to you and science to get a clean cut. This will take some learning curve but the product itself has worked as designed which is to give you a nice, light score line. So look up youtube tutorials for the best ways to heat/cool the score line for that nice clean cut and don’t blame the tool!If you’re a DIYer, you will love this product. So many project ideas you can do and a great way to repurpose old bottles.

I bought this to do a specific project. Turns out, the bottles I was looking to cut, where I wanted to cut them was just in the wrong place. The way the adjustable part of the cutter works leaves out about a half inch in the middle of their range of lengths. This was super frustrating because me, as the buyer does not think to have to worry about that, they give you their range of lengths that you can adjust the cutter, and I figured I was good to go. After a lot of frustration, I created a fix for it: taping some scrap wood to the metal adjusting piece so it was cutting at the right length. However I will also note that when screwing in the metal L that is used to adjust the length, do make sure it is very tight. I had a few times where it wasn't tight enough, and mid cutting a bottle it slid along the track. Also, the blade itself is adjustable as well, but this is a problem because it will come loose and push downward if you are cutting a bunch of bottles in a row. You have to make sure it is screwed in really tight, and check it periodically. Last note, if you are looking to cut bottles that are quite small in diameter, this is not the best for that because the white rollers are spaced kind of far apart, so a small bottle will just fall in between them. But I believe they have that noted in the product description. Ultimately, it cuts the bottles, so if you take these things into consideration and just work around them, it does the job. The kit came with everything advertised and was easy to use after I dealt with the issues I've listed.

I was looking for a glass cutter and I came across this bundle. I must say I just love my bottle cutter, it's brilliant. Along with the glass cutter and bottle cutter I got cut resistant gloves and sandpaper.The bottle cutter is awesome, I've had a great time with it. It took around two tries to learn how to cut bottles correctly, and well.. since then I've been making glasses and vases with it like crazy, I even made an ashtray and it came out great. One over the other it's a quality product that surprised me in a pleasant way, very useful too.As for the glass cutter, it cuts fast and easy and I like that you can open the lid to refill it. Some time ago I ordered another model that couldn't be filled, so after it had no more oil it was just no longer any good. This is not the case with this one, you ca remove the lid and refill it with the little tool they give you.I am very excited about my purchase, and I will order again from them for sure.

After several tries and a lot of research on line I was never able to cut a bottle with this product. I was able to score the bottle but after that when I tried to get the bottle to break along the score the bottle would just break in all sorts of places. From my experience this product does not work. I would not recommend it.

I like to grow my own spices in my apartment, and because I am away a lot with my job, I don't always get to wet them, so they usually died. I searched for a fix for this and found on the internet an article on how to use a bottle cutter to cut wine bottles and then use them for plants so that they can take how much water they need on their own, without the need for you to keep taking care of them every day. I bought this glass bottle cutter tool for this project and I am very pleased with it. I've been able to cut the bottles easily, the cutting machine works very well and easy, and also the video tutorial they provide was a great help. The project was a success, I moved the plants inside the wine bottles I cut with the cutting device and it works very well. They now take their own water and I couldn't be more happier with the choice I made! Loved the bottle cutter product.

Just what I needed to make these wine bottle vases! But you have to follow the rules with water temps when plunging in and out of hot then cold water. Took me a couple tries then finally used a candy thermometer to make sure the temps were accurate and voila, it worked like a charm!

This unit is extremely well made and easy to use. On my first attempt, I tried it on a thick bottle. It almost worked but the bottle broke partly on the scored line and the rest on the rest of the bottle, so it was a failed attempt. I think I need more practice to perfect it. But overall, I was happy with the unit.

IF you know how to use it. I suspect many bad reviews are from people who don't. I wasn't very good on my first attempt, much better on my second and this third time every bottle came out perfect. I am turning wine bottles into cloches for orchard seedlings and will use the bottom bowls for slug traps in the garden. What a score. Don't excuse my pun.Here's a few tips.Keep the bottle perfectly straight while you're scoring that circle. Every time you make a little blip in the line you make a potential crack in your bottle, that is YOUR fault. Instructions always tell you to only go around once, do that! You will literally hear a deep cut when your lines meet, stop there!If you don't hear that deeper cut your lines don't meet up and you're likely going to get a broken bottle.If you hear a rather large crack while you're dipping into the water your bottle likely just cracked where you made a little blip in the score...a short cracking sound is likely just the cut line starting to 'go'.I found that I needed to leave the bottle in the water longer. I hold it (off the bottom of the hot pot on a simmer) for a long, slow 10 count. Dip it into the cold water for the same amount of time. Sometimes the cut will break off then but most times it has to go back into the hot. I even had one bottle that took hot, cold, hot, cold, hot, cold (come on are you ever going to break?) and it finally did so, PATIENCE. And good luck.

Premetto che avevo già provato la tecnica del filo+alcool+shock termico (e non aveva funzionato).Le criticità dell’oggetto sono che la staffa mobile che potete regolare a seconda che vogliate tagliare verso il collo o il fondo della bottiglia, ma con bottiglie lunghe (tipo vodka greygoose) si deve togliere, col rischio di fare errori di doppia linea di circonferenza.Vi dico l’unica tecnica che ha funzionato con me:Si prende la bottiglia si incide con un paio di giri cercando appunto di fare un cerchio solo.Prendere una fiamma ossidrica da pochi euro tipo quella per glassare lo zucchero sulla crema catalana, passatela su tutta la circonferenza facendola roteare. E appena sentite scricchiolare dai diversi lati immergete nell acqua fredda (non serve quella calda). Con un leggerissimo colpo la bottiglia si dividere.Io ho usato per la prima bottiglia un accendino, e poi la fiamma del fornello.Ho provato l attrezzo su tre tipi di bottiglie, con tre spessori molto diversi: e si sono divise!Magari piano piano affinerò la tecnica con risultati migliori, ma per il prezzo pagato va bene!
