My OEM filter lasted nearly 4 years and kept humidity at about 75%. This was much thinner paper, barely lasted one year (buying an OEM today), and could never get humidity above 65%. So, it works, it fits, but it doesn't last as long or work as well as the more expensive OEM filter...

I believe these wicks are of a high quality. They seem to last about two months during the heating season here in MN. When the wick has a lot of lime built up on it, it’s time to replace it, otherwise it won’t soak up water like it should. I usually order 3 at a time so I only need to order them once a year. Use the Essickware Bacteriostatic treatment solution to keep your humidifier smelling good.

Super simple to replace. The plastic and filter are one piece. You don’t take have to put the filter inside the plastic case like the older ones I’ve had.
