I love these spool holders for my Janome machine. They work great with my aurifil thread. They are small and easily lost if they fall on the floor( ask me how I know) I would recommend buying more than one package just in case!! :)

This is great! I was having a problem because I use Aurifil thread and the spools (with 1300 yards) are fairly large. The other two spool caps, large and small, that came with the machine (Janome 3160) would not hold the spool firmly enough. For example, when I was filling a bobbin (which should always be done at speed) the spool cap would fly off and the thread spool would go off the spindle. Likewise if I was sewing at high speed the spool cap would fly off. This special spool holder holds the thread spool nice and firmly. Several of my friends have the same problem with their Janome 3160 and now they are buying this spool holder.

This was exactly what I needed for my janome 8900 machine to handle the large aurifil thread spools. Works perfect.

Prior to getting this I could not figure out why Aurifil large thread spools wouldn't work with my Janome 3160 QDC. Someone eventually told me the spool cap that comes with the machine isn't suited for large Aurifil spools and this cap was what is needed. It's cheap so I gave it a try and it works like a dream.Now I can use Aurifil without thread breakage and skipped stitches!

These Janome spool holders sure do come in handy when I have to use a larger spool of thread in my sewing machine. They hold the spool of thread and snap on easily.
