I'm a full time luther and needed one for a student violin. I was very pleased. Comens in a bag of parts. Chrome plated mounts and solid beautiful unstained ebony (Most ebony is not solid black, it's dyed with india ink) I put superglue in the holes to hold the mounts in the chinrest. I keep cork on hand with sticky backs. the stuff you get for coasters. After they were applied it worked great and looked nice.

No cork padding and hardware doesn’t fit chin rest. Holes are too big for threaded inserts. Dumb.

There is no cork or other cushioning material attached to the chin rest.It may be "Ebony" but it's a lovely tiger stripe brown.Comes with mounting bracket BUT the holes in the chin rest are drilled Too Large!! Doesn't thread in properly Not a great deal.I work on Violins as a hobby, won't make this mistake again.

What even is this? Right out of the box, it was scuffed and looked used. Probably because a smart person returned it. Came with no cork, so hope you have a wine bottle handy to glue it. It is not ebony like in the picture. I have no idea what it is, but I do think it's wood. It has striped grain that looks real. The screws don't actually fit in the screw holes. When you try to put it on, it collapses forward because there is just a sliver of wood it's balancing on. I'm going to try to McGuiver this, but I do NOT recommend.

Sadly, this chin rest did not have any cork attached to it and none was included in the packaging, so I was unable to use it.

No cork padding on the clamp or chinrest. The clamp screws are too small to fit into the large holes on the chinrest.
