I got this after being referred to it by my sister-in-law who is a breeder of long-haired cats, and it works like a charm the teeth spin and I think this helps get through the fur good buy.

When I bought this I though I was buying a comb with rotating teeth. I was disappointed. (My mistake.) But then I found out it actually works well enough. Overall pleased with it for the price. It is not a big comb. Smaller than most. But not so small that I can't use it. The small size actually seems easier to use on my small dog.

A comb with rotating teeth is the only way to go. They are great for pulling out dead undercoat, but are not for yanking out big mats. You need to be careful not to pull too hard on a large mat, and still need to pull one apart with your fingers or scissor it. This comb is a nice size to use on a small pet, or for a dog’s face, beard and ears. It’s good for human hair, too. While the handle on this is comfortable, if you have a pet with a thick coat do your hands a favor and buy one in the rake style.

This comb is the best on the market. Every long haired dog owner should have one or two. Combing can sometimes hurt your furry friends. This comb is SO much kinder for your best friend!

Our cats love this comb. The teeth on the comb do not cut into their skin like some others do. I love the rubberized grip/spine on the comb as it makes it easier for me to hang on to it.

I purchased this comb as an add-on item, primarily to increase the versatility of our pet-grooming tool collection. I am not an expert groomer, but a pet owner who is taking a more active role in the grooming process as a whole. We have a senior dog with long hair and sensitive skin who finds no part of being primped pleasurable, and we have a puppy who is hyper by age and isn't yet secure with knowing what being primped is all about.The dogs are less than 20 lb each, and I prefer the size of this 5-inch comb over other similarly-styled combs which are 7.5 inches in length, as it gives me more control of the comb. The soft grip makes it comfortable to hold, and the rotating teeth with rounded edges are generally better received by the animals.Still I wouldn't consider it a go-to comb when selecting from my available options. It glides rather smoothly through the untangled hair, but it doesn't tackle mats as gently as it should. Given my dogs' coats being naturally dry and fine, I'd think it would be a challenge for the curly- or heavy-coated dogs. The tines themselves are equidistant for the full length of the comb, and while "medium" is perhaps the single best uniform choice, it isn't going to prove suitable for most situations.The comb is of decent quality, and I would consider it even great for the fur of a cat; but given my experience with dogs, my own preference would be to use a slightly larger fine/coarse combination in this style and reserve the evenly-spaced standard teeth for a comb with a handle or tail, possibly with longer tines.

This comb is very sturdy and made with quality. I have a Bichon Frise that has very curly hair which will form small knots if I am not as diligent with his grooming, as I know I should be (combing his hair every other day as recommended). Even though I have always purchased the combs with "spinning teeth" such as this comb has, I still find myself going through one comb after the next...at least three in the seven and a half years of Beauregard's life! Beau-Beau does not get as frustrated and cry when I comb or trim his beard (hair around his mouth) around his eyes and trademark tail with this smaller comb as he did when I used the others that were always falling apart (the teeth separating from the handle) so effortlessly! And why I continually purchased the same type/make and brand baffles even me! The craftsmanship of this comb is EXCELLENT and I wish I'd known about it years ago!

Worth paying more, it is the only comb with rotating teeth that does not break after a couple of uses. Good quality.

The fact the teeth rotate on this comb seems to be the reason it does so well in not getting tangled. With a Maine Coon long-haired cat mats and tangles can be an issue but this comb makes teasing them out much easier.
