These K&J washing machine hoses are a solid upgrade. They feel much more sturdy than the cheap ones that came with my washer, and I love the stainless steel braided look. Peace of mind knowing they're burst-proof is a big plus, especially since I've had leaks in the past. Definitely recommend these for anyone looking to replace their old hoses.

The hoses are the replacement for the rubber washing machine hoses. The material seems sturdy, not easy to bend or break.

These hoses were much lighter than those they replaced, which had worn washers that could not be replaced. The metal shielding over the rubber(?) hose was definitely thinner. I never had a washing hose burst, so am not overly concerned. The lighter shielding also makes them more flexible, which puts less strain on the hose which I imagine is a good thing.They were about 60% of the price of the original "high quality set" that came with the washers predecessor.I will update this review if there are any long term durability issues. I also caution anyone to be careful in not over tightening connections on new washers that have nylon connections. Hand tighten, then just an 1/8 turn to insure no leaks and no more. The nylon threads on my new machine were damaged and I had to replace the water inlet valve ($$$) when I over tightened the old hoses on the new machine.

I looked over many hoses to replace my old rubber hoses. Other than all rubber, thick Floodchek brand hoses, which are very expensive, and backordered for an indefinate time, these seemed decent. I wanted rubber core vs pvc core for flexibility and vibration resistance. The fittings are rustproof and well-crimped and the stainless braid may prevent rubber hose blowouts. The connector washers are thick and supple, which I coated with silicone grease. Although these hoses are not rated for 1500-2000 psi, as some pvc core stainless braided models are, I reasoned that vibration resistance (i.e. crack resistance) is more important than the super high psi burst rating. The OD of these is about 0.6" whch could be thicker, since my old rubber hoses without stainless are 0.7", so we will see if they last the test of time. I also put 8" lengths of slit rubber 5/8" ID auto heater hose about 12" from each end of hose, which are fastened to the washing machine and the wall with a pipe clamp and screw, and wrapped vinyl tape around the hose end fittings to lessen the movement stress at the crimped connectors (the weakest point of all hoses). This eliminates flexing stress at the connector crimps, and disperses stresses over the remaining length of the free-hanging hose. To reduce machine movement during heavy load spinning, I strapped 12 one gallon bottles of water to the top of the machine. There is very little overall hose movement now on my front loading machine, which tend to move around more. We will see how they hold up long-term, with my extra-paranoid strain relief modifications.

Time will tell as to how good they are but they seem very well made. The warranty also looks good.
