I feel the most important thing about these pliers is they work and work well have had no problem of the pliers slipping off the hose clamp I have owned over a half dozen of this type of plier and none can compare to these a little expensive but well worth it

Knipex creates excepional quality tools. This model of hose clamp pliers is no exception. It is admittedly a bit expensive but with proper care you have a lifetime tool. So in my opinion it is cost justified. In this particular model #85 51 250 you get a locking mechanism that is wonderful. The thickness of the tool is a definite asset when negoating tight quarters. I am completely satisfied after years of using the typical slip-joint pliers which appreately named do in fact slip. Worth the extra $$s!

I bought these pliers to get a hose clamp on in a very tight spot. When I tried to put the clamp on with regular pliers it would just slip out or I couldn't open it far enough. When I received the Knipex pliers it went on effortlessly. I highly recommend these pliers for spring type automotive clamps.

The only issue I’ve had so far is the one side of the pliers has a snap ring to hold the clamp head in, be careful not to dislodge the clamp head and loose the snap ring. BEST HOSE CLAMP PLIERS

Je l'utilise sur toutes sortes de colliers (de la durite d''essence à la durite d'entrée d'air de plus gros diamètre) et ça fonctionne très bien, sans sauter.J'ai également des pinces "chinoises" pour ça mais celle ci possède un avantage (en plus du verrouillage) : les pastilles sont orientables et ça permet d'approcher la pince de manière NON perpendiculaire (quand l'accès est restreint ça peut aider)
