had this installed in my shower during a remodel, the valve body lasted 4+ years. easy to find replacements though ($50). The little shutoff valves next to the main valve almost disintegrated when turning the water off. I thought it would be nice to have those there for when the valve needs to be serviced, but they don't seem to last and I had to shut the main water off anyway. No big deal, but it defeats the entire purpose of having the shutoffs there to begin with. If I had to do it over I would just buy the version of this that doesn't have those.

Choose this valve for a new installation and believe it was the right choice. Time will tell but nice features are shutoffs are installed in the valve body which would make it nice if the cartridge ever has to be replaced. Easy installation and performs as expected.

Used this to replace a 30 year old Kohler faucet on which the plastic stem broke - I suspect due to misuse by a houseguest. Nobody likes replacing shower valves, but this one went in as expected. In operation it is smooth to adjust, turns off solidly, and fit well with the Devonshire Rite-Temp Shower Valve Trim with Lever Handle.

I recently remodeled several bathrooms and bought two of these cartridges. The price was right and they seem to work fine. No more scalding when someone flushes the toilet or the dish washer turns on!

There are some great videos on the Internet describing the step-by-step process for installing this valve and the instructions worked great! Not terribly complicated to install, in my opinion.

Very poorly packaged and as a result the plastic casing was broken in 2 places. Nothing wrong with the product, only the careless packaging.

WHAT THE ACTUAL...?! I had Kohler fixtures in my last place and although I loved the look, I was never particularly impressed with the quality. Against my better judgement, I bought the same again and installed them in my new bathroom. Literally the first day this POS valve was installed, it broke. My contractor was still at my house, fiddled with it a bit a got it working again. Then tonight - while sick, exhausted, and looking after a new baby - it broke at midnight. I took it apart and found the problem - the metal piece that inserts into the handle is literally sheared in two. HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN? And naturally, the 30-day window to exchange has passed, because there's a pandemic and I had to wait 2 months to get the supplies I needed to install the rest of the shower. Kohler has basically ruined my life, and I know better than to even bother trying to deal with them. Absolute garbage.

Well, our old bath taps let us take hot water straight from the HW tank at full tank temperature. We had the tank set to 49degsC, which gave a nice full bath of hot water. This new valve, even with the so called max temp stop removed and the knob turned fully clockwise is only letting water into the bath at 45degs, way to cold for a luxurious soak. After a few minutes I have to get out, the bath is too cold! I don't know if this is a faulty valve, or if that is a factory preset max, but since we haven't yet tiled the wall, out it comes and in the bin it goes! Grump! AVOID!!!
